First quarter summary

-Murphy doesn’t convert very easy shot on goal
-Armfield turnover – kicks the ball into the middle of the ground, tries to take man on – easy goal to NM.
-Instead of Carlton being 1 point up North are up by 10 because of Murphy’s miss and Armfield’s turnover
-Henderson, Robinson miss shots – both from deep in the pocket
-Disgraceful performance so far from umpire Schmitt
-Gibbs kicks inside 50 with 1:58 left – ball comes out to NM player – Judd misses a tackle, ball gets moved up the ground to Harper who kicks goal with little time left.
-Missed tackles from a number of players
-For a senior player Jamison’s lack of discipline is very poor – firstly giving the push in the back, then the 50m penalty. Instead of no shot on goal and one very difficult shot on goal Petrie gets an easy shot and then a gimmy. Extremely poor discipline.

Second quarter summary

-Puts Henderson onto Petrie and Watson forward – why?
-Joseph fumbles after Yarran gives him the ball – Atley goal.
-NM lots of marks inside 50 mostly directly in front…easy shots on goal – check conversion – 12.2 to 6.9 at HT.
-Collins good kick to Murphy inside 50 – Murphy missed it again
-Garlett misses one too
-Jamison kicks into the man on the mark
-Lucas kicks it out on the full
-Garlett misses again after we win the ball at the stoppage
-Betts good mark from the kickout – kicks to Judd – Judd goal.
-Duigan keeps the ball in at half forward when outnumbered – should have taken it out of bounds.
-Duigan up forward not working
-Henderson down back not working
-Garlett drops a relatively easy mark inside 50 – he is [REDACTED], confidence shot
-Lucas has the ball wing/HF. Eddie against Grima, huge height difference, Lucas still kicks it to him.
-Ziebell cleans up Joseph – jumps off the ground – gets him in the head (immediate free) – no free. NM immediately get soft free
-McMillan tackled 5m out, should be holding the ball, nothing!
-Armfield 4:54 left – turnover when there was a very easy kick to Duigan
-Mclean hard off the square – Armfield kicks goal.
-NM isolate Petrie top of the square – Henderson no hope as ball bombed in there, Petrie marks and goals.
-We have no forward target and we move Henderson down back when he was providing the lead up option.
-Loss of Walker hurting.
-Kreuzer no impact.
-Gibbs no impact

-NM 24 inside 50s, CFC 23
-NM 20 clearances, CFC
-Poor conversion

Second half summary

-Henderson still on Petrie
-Gibbs at half forward, kicks inside 50….Duigan leading back towards goal, doesn’t keep possession
-Betts kick inside 50 after HTB, to pocket, no free to Judd
-Pannell gets in Carrazzo’s way
-Duigan dropped mark at HF/wing
-Grima sitting loose in defence, Robinson switches, almost turnover
-Robinson tough hit at HB – Judd wins, kicks it to Gibbs who is the quasi CHF
-Gibbs bombs to Garlett, great penetration on kick, Garlett can’t mark, tackles Atley, should be HTB, isn’t, Murphy goals.
-Harper marks – once again our half backs get dragged up the ground, Petrie one on one, Henderson no chance, Petrie goal, kicks his 6th
-Collins nice kick to Garlett, Garlett passes to Judd, Judd goals
-Duigan should have put a block on, instead he goes and contests, bringing man to contest.
-Judd third goal – ripping goal from stoppage.
-Troy Pannell gifts Petrie another one, he kicks is 7th

CATCH UP FOOTBALL

Lack of discipline first quarter costs us….can’t make up any ground, Jamison’s poor discipline killed us! Poor conversion!

-Non holding the ball decision, Wells goals.
-Two up, none down, Hansen crumbs, Thomas goals.

The way North Melbourne were able to drag all of our defenders up the ground and leave Petrie isolated in the square showed poor coaching - it didn't @#$%&! matter if Henderson or Jamison were on Petrie given the way North coaching staff could manipulate our defensive setup. So such a dumb move to move Henderson to Petrie.

Why did the matchday thread get closed before the final siren?

Simply disgraceful. On so many fronts.

Absolutely filthy at all and sundry.

What will the fallout be?

except for their score against GWS, this was Norths biggest score since 2007 - there's a story there

Smashed, whilst only being 4 points short of 100 ourselves. I don't get it.

We are mentally weak.. We believe our own hype too much. This always happens the week after big wins.
Surely papers will be stamped after tonight. Simply a disgracefull coaching performance.
You reckopn Brad Scott wouldnt ve seen the Duigan up for ward move coming ?
Not picking Mitchell or Casboult, and leaving Watson to share the ruck with Kreuz was dumb.
Copping injuries again was unlucky
Getting reamed by the umps was unfair.

Forget them... They had a great night, every move worked, kicked straight and had (in my view) a great run with the umps at telling times. They deserved to WIN.

US?!?!

Yes a player and a bit short tonight for rotations, but that wasn't the difference. No answers, same coaching, moves and too predictable. Add to that 2 players who may get cited (Jamo & Judd) and we have to be upfront in what we want from 2012.

I want to play the kids for 2012 and those that show nothing... add them to the Thorton, Bower, Russell (Sorry TC) and rookies who haven't had a game in 3 years and go mad in the draft.

It was too easy for North to exploit our weaknesses tonight.

Needed Warnock in the ruck to help Kreuze against Goldstein.
No answer to Petrie if we allow one on one contests all the time.
Although [REDACTED] goal kicking is all our own doing.

:yikes:

Bit of a shoot out. We had no game tonight with a patchwork gameplan. We are undermanned and it got worse as the game went on.
Some of our good players are seriously out of form and others just are not as good as their opponent.

How good a north! They will be great to watch this year (thomas aside) if they keep this form up. Good hardened players with a gameplan that will go well against the top teams this year. It is a press buster of a plan.

Our 22 just weren't not as good and when you think of how bad the form on Jamo, Garlett, Murphy(to be excused), Gibbs and Duigan and blokes like Armfield and Brock being ok but not better than their opponent, throw in a couple of men down and 2 very young players and a guy who didnt think he was playing until 5 mins before the game you can see where that result came from.

The rest of the season will be interesting.

Rats said last week "I can't control the media, I can only control the players"

Rats, if you couldn't control the players tonight to get them up for a big game that maybe could have turned the season around, then you need to go.

Rubbish. Ratts didn't come in with a sound structure. Hendo first move back when Petrie kicked a couple.

Poor recruitment, giving away draft pick for dud players trying to top up it just does not work that way . Check out team that have one the big one 95% of ther teams have all come from kids that were drafted to that club . giving game time so they can develope our club does not play our kids enough.
