How do we know we haven’t approached him for a different role?

Footy Classified might just get its highest ratings ever if the 81,000 CFC members watch tonight to see how Lyon goes

Anyone else wondering if dragging it out til mid week was Clarkson's final intentional kick in the balls to Carlton?

Do some posters still believe we know what we are doing?

Shambles and a laughing stock. Particularly if it is true there are two board members that won’t vote for Lyon.

No I think it might have been Gill stepping in and saying we are giving Dew on last year then we want you up there with a god father under the table offer

I've been of the opinion Clarkson to gws is the AFL's want.

Cameron has coached well based on what he had to work with, but he's been bleeding talent for years, has had 8 years with that mob, missed finals last year, and they need a long term messiah type to make that franchise work.

Quite possibly & if so you can see the appeal to Clarkson himself. Much better outcome for him at age 53 than walking into a shitshow like Carlton.

How many on the board? Since when does it need to be unanimous?

That doesn't mean it's a shambles. Surely if there is a majority, they win. If it's 50/50 there must be a process (I would imagine Sayers makes the call) no?

Meanwhile, back in early July…

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/cla ... 588cj.html

Quote:
“I’m contracted until the end of next year and I am staying here,” Clarkson said on Friday…

…Despite Clarkson’s manager James Henderson publicly declaring Clarkson will fulfil his contract…

Until the club makes an official announcement on who is coaching us in 2022 I wouldn't be ruling anybody in or out.

We had to try with Clarkson if he is available and willing he is not so let’s not get hysterical and not slag off about board going through appropriate process for review just because Clarkson has said no
Why wouldn’t he take a year off when Hawthorn are paying upwards of 450 K god him to sit around and do anything he wants apart from coaching

This club is a shambles. Not just referring to the coaching merry go round. Has been for a very long time.

Surely, if Teague is not the right person, then he would have been sacked by now. Instead he is conducting exit interviews. The review’s results have been known for a few weeks. It appears to be a process by elimination. Will be quite embarrassing if he ends up remaining in the role after his and Pickering’s criticism of the club.

It doesn't - the newly minted Hall of Famer walked away from the board due to being outvoted on the training wheeler...

The Hall of Famer told it as it was and then basically had to apoligise.

Do you know that's why he walked away?
I got the impression that he was giving voice to the actual Board position at the time.
But this position changed when the Teague Train got up some speed and then he - and the whole Board - were made to look silly.
Having said that, a similar thing happened when Roos got the Sydney gig after building momentum during his caretaker period and that worked out alright for them...

Who is better qualified to do the exit interviews? :?
Surely Teague knows what has been expected of individual players and what roles they were given. He's contracted for another year. If he cant do the job properly, he should re-consider having any future role in the AFL.

By approaching Clarkson and Lyon before the review was finalised, we have effectively said to Teague you are not the appropriate person to take us forward. Let’s stop kidding ourselves. In this scenario, he should have been sacked before today. My point was not necessarily about him conducting the interviews. Obviously, he is still there and in the best position to conduct those interviews. Although, they become redundant if there is a new coach, who has completely different views.
