I hate losing but tonight I am more disappointed than angry, we had the application but we lacked the execution. Either way I think that Ratts and the coaching panel did a pretty good job tonight. It is not their fault that our players are such terrible shots at goal.
Ratts demanded agreater intensity and wanted them to be bold, well he got his message across.
My criticism of tonight was the selection of certain players the use of Yarran as a sub

Our team is deficient due to injuries and lack of depth, we mustbstart looking towards 2013

Why should we give praise to players wfor doing something that they should ve been doing already. Where were these efforts against the lesser teams liek Port and St Kilda.
I would ve prefered the players know when to be bold, and know when to set up defensive structures to deal with Geelong attacks. Our soft as butter defensive efforts dealing with Geelong kick ins in the last quarter were pathetic!!

Geelong play soft footy now compared to other teams. Suits us.
We were not tested mentally.
Compared last night to last Friday night.
Richmond and St Kilda are better teams going on these two games

Not sure how you can think Geelong are a club thats above the pack teams like StKilda and Richmond right now.

Don't kid yourself
Geelong played crap tonight. This wasn't the Geelong of premiership glory.
So credit for being within 2 goals of a Geelong team that would have been beaten by anyone from West Coast through to Richmond?

Without wanting to come across like a smartarse, I have far higher standards for this club and this team than 'having a crack'.

Sticks himself said we're planning to win 3 flags in 5 years. So having a crack and falling short against a team destined for the lower reaches of the eight...

Nah.

My nomination for POW...

Whats wrong with Geelong? Coach, players or admin?

Why are they not the team they were last year?

Of course, you're quite correct John.

However, I can only surmise that you must have missed the last 6 weeks or so?

Friday nights effort was a massive inprovement on the efforts we have been seeing agree that Yarram is much too valuable on the field to be sitting on the boundary.

It is extroadinary with so many injuries Kane Lucas cant get a game

Age and hunger

Old and lost their hunger you say? Yet there ahead of us....a team which should be hungry like wolves you'd think right?....

Unfortunately not

But I'm not letting anyone get away with redefining the ambiitions that our club powerbrokers laid out for us. A year ago we were going to have a Brisbane/Geelong-like dynasty, so our President said. This year was top 4 with a real crack at a flag.

Now we're meant to be happy because for the first time in a month our players looked like they cared as much as the opposition??

FMD, have we sunk that low... Giving credit for playing with intent?

Deliver us a team capable of getting to the very summit or piss off and let someone else do it.

I think it was a good effort in the circumstances and easily our best loss, if that makes any sense.

So I'm ok with Friday, but I probably won't be ok with a loss to WCE.

Honorable losses can't be what this club is about, it's time for some against the odds victories. When did we last have one of those?

I love a good free flowing game where no defensive pressure is exhausted too.

Wish we could play more games like that.

Geelong was a bad loss for Carlton but it was far better than the apalling performance they turned on against Port Adelaide Kruezer appears to be carrying injuries.
It is about time Hampson produced or forget him Warnock is a far more reliable ruckman.Bring back a star of the future Kane Lucas into the team.

There were 5 or 6 disputed contest in the game where you thought if they had gone our way the result would have been very much different

Unfortunately we lost everyone of them
Need to win them
