From our 'best 22' prior to this week: Carazzo Laidler and after the Adelaide game...possibly Hendo, Duigan, and definitely Murph. Waite is always breaking down, Warnock is about as brittle as a cooked chicken bone. Surprised Bower hasn't injured himself yet. At least Yarran is on the mend. We'll be bringing in some new cattle this week no doubt which may resemble our NAB cup side. Hope they're ready and hopefully we'll find another couple of gems. |

Testing depth would require one thing - depth! |

We have a heap of depth in non crucial areas. |

If we could get the best out of Gibbs, Henderson, Kruezer, Watson, Buckley, Dale, Bootsma, McCarthy, Warnock, Hampson, Garlett, Yarran, Casboult, Mitchell, Touhy, Lucas, Duigan it is amazing how quickly it would look like we have some depth. |

Need to pull the plug on the coach to do that. Baby daughter, alimony or whatever doesnt matter... No time for sob stories to the board. This guy has Robbo as tagger number 7 and we think were gunna get our hands on the ball. Tagging means youre reacting to the tagee. Thats no way to find the ball. Especially in the huge numbers he likes to use as taggers. He is amazingly naive |

It's a bit of a stretch naming at least a couple on that list. Besides, if some very questionable players keep performing every second, third or even forth game then we won't have the heart or stomach to delist them, we might even extend their contracts by two years. How do develop or maintain true 'depth' that way? |

You don't develop depth by never giving young players a chance at the highest level. Right now we have that opportunity, doesn't look like we'll take it. |

The club has been forced to play kids and it will now have its benefits. By getting games into Boostma, Watson, Collins, Ellard (midfield time) it starts to get benefits. I have said it all along you are better playing these guys than AJ, Russell, Armfield, Bower etc. When the injured players come back we all of a sudden have players backing up that have some experience. |

He is amazingly naive And hypocritical......fancy telling your players to be bold when he plans for a tagging model every week......Sorry Ratts, you need to fall on your sword Injuries were no excuses for our weak as piss performances against Ess, StK and Port FOOTNOTE. Pour all our resources into developing Lucas, Collins, Bootsma, Dale, Mitchell, Buckley and Watson. Fast track their development for 2013. And say goodbye to Russell, Bower, Hampson, Curnow and Joseph |

I guess you think you have a better grasp of footy and coaching than Ratten. Think one of you wanted Fevola for our window. And you're calling Ratten naive. Get rid of Hampson. ![]() |

If you guys are unable to see Armfield's improvement this year then what can you say? He has gone past the likes of Bower, Russell & AJ...very reliablle, robust and efficient player he is now. |

Noone does it year in year out.... from our development So on this u can expect Army to go backwards next year.... and Joseph playing great footy for another club |

King Kenny wrote: Army has probably improved his consistency, hasn't gone to a new level. I like Armfield but he is a depth player at best. Another excuse of injuries has been given a bit more time but doesn't exactly produce winning performances. A depth player at best. Whats he average? 12-15 possessions a game? 2-3 contested possessions? People are really clinging at straws if they are using Armfield as an example. |

I recommend everyone to have a listen to Mark Fine's summary of the depth/flexibility issues we have. Arguably the most accurate summary from the most unlikely of sources. |
