Laidler's missed half the games we've played. Yarran's missed half the games we've played. Ellard's missed most of the games we've played. Warnock's been injured and hasn't played. White's been injured and hasn't played. Russell, Bower and Armfield are about the same as last year. |

rhino, we might become Melbourne if we don't start being excellent! that's the point! we are massively behind where we should be. |

Nothing wrong with the thread, I just question some players rated as going backwards when they had little contribution last year. |

look when a team has forty odd on their list and we have a heap of tall players not playing and a heap of half back flank players not playing and we are crying out for mids and the cupboard is bare that will happen! midfielders are the most important group of players. you always need more of those not less! they make everyone else play better! |

Forget about players improving and think about team improving. Some might go backwards in a number of facets of their game but step up in one other that helps the team more. Steps up in a way that helps someone else step up in way they never thought they could. 5-2 is the issue. Not great but its a different season this year and its opened up for a number of teams. 8-2 would be pretty good. |

The only senior player who has really made strides this season is Hampson. Zac has made progress, but not a big step. Kreuz has had some better games but some quiet ones too. Hendo has maintained his fine form of late last year. I'd give Carrazzo a tick as well but he's only played 3 games. We need young players to push up past the likes of Thornton, Russell, Bower, Joseph and McLean. They haven't done that and they didn't do it last year either. In fact, Tuohy and Lucas are the only Carlton developed players in our best 30 to have debuted in the last three seasons. |

Bower has rebounded from the past two seasons, and I personally believe he is ahead of where he was in 2009. It's not AA form, but it's another bloke who can do a job well. |

So you mean he went backwards sometime between 2009 and 2012, most likely 2010-11 when he was overrun with injury. Actually improved in 2012. |
