Two more rest days than our opponents.

Again!

Getting Jamo back will be huge. Having Henderson and Jamison on Dawes & Cloke will be very handy.

In the past Collingwood have kicked away from us in the second half of games with gut running and non-stop intensity around the ball.

I think the past two matches have shown that we have the fitness and intensity to go with them and wear them down.

As long as we can minimise the brain farts when we have possession I am confident we can win.

Totally agree.

Pretty sure theyre still a bit underdone, see how they go against the
pre season flag favourites (Tiges) but im very confident we are primed
to give them a severe wake up call....... and then some !!

I also think Krakouer is a massive loss for them. He lit us up last year with some freakish goals.

Jamo comes straight in as he is the back half general

From what I have seen so far Duigan might have to wait and earn his spot the current boys down back Bower Touhy Hendo have all been good

Please dont let the little shit kick 5 again

If my memory serves me correct Jamo didn't play against them twice last year & he's the man for Cloke.

I don't fear them one bit, we have the team to smash them & we will.

I hope so as Mt Cloke swats defenders away like flies, he is a seriously massive unit these days.

Yep. I think we will win. Not flog them, but win enough to shut them up.

Most excited I've been for this traditional clash for many a year.

I think the changes could be out - Russell and Thornton for the ins of Jamison and Duigan.

Our backline has been great the last two games and all this considering how many in the media have said that the blues backline is our weakness. I think the in's of Jamison especially make for an even more competitive and attacking unit down back.

Blues to win by four goals!

Does anyone know if Jamison and Duigan will have a hit out this weekend? I heard / read somewhere that there is an intra-club game that they will play in, but can't find details of it.

Big game for us (stating the obvious). The pieces of the jigsaw are definitely falling into place. The one serious question I still have (and have posted about previously) is our system going forward. The default game plan still seems to be kick it high and hope for a mark or a crumb. Even last night, that was how we played until Brisbane eventually just fell apart, and their lack of anything down back meant we could spot up loose players. It works well enough against the poorer teams, but against the top teams, with good defences which know when to peel off and play the extra man at the contest, it doesn't work. It's one of the major reasons why we couldn't kick winning scores against the top 4 last year.

At the moment, it seems to me we are winning because we have great talent, pace, ex-factor on all lines, and a hardness at the ball that is impressive. I don't see as yet the tight system that the top teams have.

Can't wait for Friday night to see how we go against quality opposition (admittedly with talent out or underdone). Bring it on!

There was an intra club yesterday. Not sure who played.

Can't wait for this game.

No way Thornton will be dropped - think Armfield and Russell might go.

I think Jamo for Russell should be the only change. Lucas as sub again.

Can't see Bower or Thornton being dropped for Duigan just yet.

Beat Pendlebury, beat Collingwood.

If Maxwell plays next week, it will be difficult, but I think another key will be how successful we will be in isolating O'Brien one out. Reid to Waite, Tarrant to Hampson, so I think if we're able to get Thornton on O'Brien and play through him enough to not only keep him away from being a third man up, but also exposed under the high ball, it will go a long way to beating them.
