Yes, that's the actual headline they used for the link.

Mother allegedly punched by "Carlton supporters" at footy

In any case, find these animals, name them, shame them, destroy their memberships and tell to @#$%&! off and never come back.

Idiocy all round by the sounds of it, and no surprises there. Saw a bloke get ejected in the MCC because he couldn't keep his temper in check. The Richmond/Carlton rivalry is probably the most bitter in terms of pure animosity.

The bloke responsible is now the Football Manager down at Geelong.

If accurate and they are Blues members then name and shame them and revoke their membership. We don't need "supporters" like that.

part of the reason I give away going to matches - some peoples definition of venting at the footy is to be a !@#$%

Not condoning this at all, but very rarely does someone get punched if they havent provoked it in any way.. Just coz shes a mum, doesnt mean shes totally innocent.

If you want to punch a supporter from your own team, is that ok?

I am seriously mild mannered and not inclined to get into fights anywhere but there is something about your average Richmond supporter at the game that makes me just want to play some chin music.

So its ok if she's a Mum, and by that definition....a female...but she provoked it?

I don't think thats what you meant to say at all, poorly worded.

People need to go to the football, have a good time, have some banter with the opposition if you can handle it, but leave it alone if you can't.

I watched the game with another TC'er on Thursday night. We sat next to a couple of female Richmond supporters and managed to stir them about the game without feeling the need to punch them...despite the fact one of them had a mohawk painted yellow and black.

Doesnt matter if shes a mum .. or theyre Carlton supporters...
Its just a reflection on society.
You can get the living daylights kicked out of you on a train.. or stabbed at a night out.

Its the breaking down of society and community and responsibility which has been evolving over the last couple of decades at a pretty rapid rate.
