I don't know what all the fuss is about with ratts saying we will or should finish top 4.... It makes sense, it is logical.

last season we finished 5th....

Do we want to go backwards? No

Do we want to stay where we are? No

Do we want to progress further, as we should with the amount of games across the board having grown again? Hell yes!! we should be expecting that.

The fact is he has said we must finish top 4 which can be an increase of as little as one position.

We should be saying it's time to make a grand final again. It has been 16 years since we won our 16th flag....You can't win one if you are not playing off in a grand final. Yet people are upset that he is saying we must finish top four, we have under sold ourselves which is putting too much pressure on us.......WTF.

AFL UMPIRES boss Jeff Gieschen has admitted Carlton champion Chris Judd deserved more free kicks last week when being tagged by Fremantle's Ryan Crowley.

Crowley's shutdown job on Judd drew the ire of Gold Coast captain Gary Ablett, who tweeted that the Freo midfielder was "a joke" and should "play the ball, not the man".

Speaking on AFL.com.au's weekly program It's Your Call, Gieschen said Judd was unlucky not to receive more protection from the umpires.

"By and large Crowley did a terrific job, but quite clearly during the game there was a couple of times we missed free kicks to Chris Judd," he said.

"But this can happen any week."

I think Judd has been good, but the taggers are just ahead.

Hopefully the above sees Judd get some relief in coming weeks.

He certainly will. He'll get protection against dud sides with no name taggers and it will all be forgotten by the time we start playing good sides again.

If he's still getting the deserved free kicks by the time we come to play the Bombers again, expect Lloyd and Watson to suddenly start talking about how "certain top players are allowed to get away with murder at stoppages" .
