http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/b ... 6295476928 Looks like the translator is having another day off - reinforces what most of us have known for a while. Did anyone know Garlett is Buddy Franklin's cousin? Wow where do these journos find out stuff like that?? ![]() |

It's a great read. I think Eddie will go down as an all time great of the club -- not just because of what he does on the field, but just the impact he has had on the culture of the place. I think he will be right up there with Syd Jackson. He has assumed a role of leadership without formally being assigned to the leadership group which is the strongest kind of leadership -- by example. He is just a ripper bloke, at least from the outside looking in and it's terrific that the Three Amigos have such a special bond. I often think back as to whether we would have drafted him at all if it had not been for Richmond taking Trent Knobel in the preseason draft -- talk about a lucky break! |

Agree Surrey over the last few years when it comes to being a Carlton in regards to the media, is like being the lone Greenie at a Liberal Party conference. ie the lone sane person in a sea of buffoonity and hot air. |

Its interesting that others are complaining about our second tier midfielders. If I was to say our most glaring weakness is the two small forwards in Garlett and Betts would you agree?. What these two bring to the table cannot be replaced by anyone outside of Yarran, and it's been noticeable in our pre-season games. I would've loved us to take Saad as that backup option. |

Most clubs are lucky to have 1 quality small forward - we have 2 in Betts and Garlett, and we can pinch hit down there with Yarran (thats some pinch hit if you ask me ![]() I dont think Saad would have wanted a ticket on Carlton's list with those 3 in front of him. |

I don't know why people rate Saad at all. |

If I was to say our most glaring weakness is the two small forwards in Garlett and Betts would you agree?. In the last quarter on the weekend, the ball didn't go inside our forward 50. That's a whole quarter of footy without a forward entry. We could have had Daryl Baldock and the Krakouer brothers in the pockets and it wouldn't have made a difference. We were smashed around the middle of the ground. You're usually spot on KK but I disagree with this one. Our second tier midfielders fell away terribly. |

We have first and third tier midfielders, hence our exposure |
