Thought I'd mention this.....Chris is not well at all and is in a Hospice in Frankston.

This man devoted his life to the CFC; and as a player could have been a champion if he hadn't been put of the game by injury.....as it was; he was sublimely gifted for the duration of his short career.

The AFL records Chris thus: Played 58-61..31 games and 9 goals and wore #35.

"A brilliant, speedy winger who passed the ball with accuracy.....he was emereging as a star, when he injured his knee in early 1961, and was forced out of the game aged just 22.

Later coached in Tasmania and then served the Blues for many years as Past Player's President and CFC Director....a great Club servant''

Also.....I hope the Blueseum doesn't mind that I've borrowed this entry from their Player pages.

Best wishes from all Carlton supporters to Chris and Mary.

as a little tacker, I remember Chris as Ken Hands' runner. Chris, along with Serge, Johnny Benetti and Vasil Valarmos , to me anyway, were the pioneers of the ''Meditteranean Blues''.

Best wishes to Chris and his family.

Hope all goes well with Chris. Not really that old.

Interesting that a knee injury ended his career. Wonder if todays
surgery would have fixed it.

Had the good fortune to have a chat with him a few years ago. Carlton through and through. I wish him a speedy recovery and I know the club will do everything to help.

You do not have to have played 200 games to be a champion of the club and he ceratinly is a champion in every sense of the word.

Heart and soul of the club rooms. Irreplaceable time, effort and love of the club to say the least.

Condolances to immediate and a much larger family.

RIP Chris....................fantastic Carlton person.Fantastic person fullstop.Chris is the reason i have followed the Blues for over sixty years.I met Chris as a kid in the fifties.Had an uncle who had a milkbar two doors from the Pavlou fish and chip shop. And thats how i met the bloke. And the greatest compliment i can give the guy is that he never changed in the sixty years i knew him.Proud, but always humble............Condolences to the Pavlou family.

A wonderful Carlton man - also did a lot for the popularity of the club amongst the Greek Cypriot community will be sadly missed.

Ran a milk bar across from where I went to school in Launceston. Always loved to chat about footy - good bloke. The other reason I follow the Blues!

Condolences to the family RIP
