I was just setting up my arrangements for Round 4 and noticed that the Sat Afternoon game has been bumped forward 1.45pm instead of the usual 2.10... and the same is for our only other Sat Afternoon game in the return match in Round 21.

My initial feeling is that this sucks... I loved the traditional 2.10 bounce... is this all due to the new TV rights and Foxtel dictating the schedule to ensure all games are shown live?

Yeah all our day games start at odd times, 1.45pm or 3.15pm I think.

Yes really. I'm still going to go but I guess the traditional Sat arvo game as rare as it is now, kinda has a sense of nostalgia.

A 3.35 game is probably more odd... Is that classed as twilight or ??

I'm sure we will adjust to the new times easily but I can long for "days of yore" can't I ;)

You may find the 2.10 start isnt as traditional as you might believe.

Happy for games to start earlier. Not real impressed with the Sunday twilight slot.

The change in times is obviously to fit in with TV committments, which is fine.

I'm fairly certain that in the late 60's to the 70's that games started at 2.20pm.

Prior to the 2.10 start it was a 2.08 start, before that was the "traditional" 2pm, if memory serves correctly.

Either you're 75 years old or you started young.

Can't say I love it either. But expect a few more scheduling "innovations" in the next few years.

Try starting at 1:50pm rather than 1:55pm and you should be right.

I don't care when we play, as long as we win.
