Hi everyone,

Hope you're all well.

The Club will launch its new website in late March. We've been working on the design in conjunction with the AFL and BigPond for a couple of months now, and we're really happy with the end result. It's a big improvement over the current site.

We've come up with a test that takes no longer than 5 minutes to complete that determines how 'user friendly' our design actually is. If you've got the time, we'd love it if you'd take a look.

Here's the link: http://bit.ly/wa7cfz

We've also been working on our official mobile app which will launch in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions regarding the design of the new site, please don't hesitate to get in touch - luca.gonano@carltonfc.com.au

Thanks in advance for your help, guys.

Luca @ CFC Media.

I did this last night. Good initiative. But I have a question - why do the club (Luca) continue to go to the lowest common denominator of Carlton fan....BigFooty and Facebook. Seriously, some of the people who reply to the facebook thread make me wonder whether they should communicate via that medium at all. (of course they should, but maybe they shouldn't allow replies.

It might be the lowest common denominator but I would imagine it would be the largest audience.

Yes...I retract my previous statement borne out of frustration with the majority of Gen Y's grammer. Whitney Houston had a point about the children being the future...we just didn't teach them well. There's not a snowballs chance in hell they will lead the way.

lulz :yikes:

Really though, through conversations I've had with some of the Multimedia team, they would LOVE to shut off comments but are aware that it would disgruntle far too many and create a whole new problem.

New site should be good though, the club finally has a good foundation to work off from BigPong.

Champion Data will also be updating the stats from now on.

As opposed to Gen X's spelling.

This site never ceases to amaze. The club brings out an initiative aimed to improve itself in the area of Social Media and 90% of the posts in the thread are negative and full of antagonistic comments.

I look forward to Carlton improving in 2012 but somehow I doubt it will make any difference here.

Regards Cazzesman

When we win a flag we will all be happy but until then the contrasting views on the site keep things interesting....on a positive note went by the club today bought some stuff from the shop....great service by the girls in there by the way....had a quick chat with Swanny in the cafe took a pic with the trophy cabinet and will do so again later this year standing next to No 17.... :smoking:

Just a tip for the usability study: for any of the items proposed in the tasks prepared that you want/expect to appear on the home page, just click 'Home' rather than following the site tree to the item.

And spelling perchance?

Rubbish post. Don't you know? - the more we improve, the more some posters will have to complain

Nice timely call using Whitney's name, there.

Lowest common denominator? O.K.
