Some memberships changes happening for 2012.

All I know so far, is that all Football Gold members will only be able to sit in Levels 1 & 3 at both MCG and Etihad.

All level 2 seats will be allocated to Captains Club members only.

However, those Football gold members currently on Level 2, will be able to upgrade to Captains Club and keep there seats.

This is a @#$%&! outrage. I have paid my hard @#$%&! earned as a premium gold member for the last 6 years to sit level 2 at the G and the Dome. Now these arseholes want to squeeze more $$$ out of loyal members. They can seriously go and get [REDACTED]. I will join the AFL members and they can piss off. Good to see greed is alive and well down at Princes Park

I just got the mail as well advising me to upgrade or get seats allocated on level 3 or level 1. Greg Swan can go and get ******! We loyal members have been there through thick and thin. Now that the dawn of good days are upon us, the bandwagoners will jump on and take my seat off me. :donk: :donk: :donk: :fight: :fight: :fight:

Also the club sent me a letter saying they will not direct debit from savings accounts next year. Only a small thing but why take away options that have been around for a few years now.

Not the point. I gave up my AFL membership 11 years ago to become a Carlton member (again). For most of those 11 years I manfully enjoyed the weekly floggings otherwise I would have been crying. Now we are on the verge of success and there goes my premium seats as as a gold member.

based on 2011 membership prices - looks to be around the $250 mark difference b/n gold/silver and captains club gold/silver?

So if I'm understanding this correctly all this crying is about a $10 per month increase?

Thats pretty poor if accurate.

The club are obviously preparing for a rush for tickets if we make the grand final next season. Part of that is looking at our membership categories and how we'll allocate tickets. Unfortunately there won't be enough to go around and cost is the best way to make the changes that are needed.

It won't be fair, but allocation of GF tickets will never be fair.

My family and I have been gold premium members for many years with level 2 seats for home games and level 3 seats for away games. Before making a judgement I would like to see what the pricing structure will be for each level of membership. On face value I am not happy and it might mean that I drop the away game component of my membership depending on the price differential.
The letter also stated that Carlton members will no longer have seats in the Olympic stand and would be moved to the Southern stand were the facilities were equal. I go to the footy to watch the footy and besides having a toilet and getting something to eat I don't need much else. I hate the Southern stand because the sun is in your face all day and if I had a choice it would be the last stand I would sit in at any event.

if the club has had an increased demand in captains club members, which I believe is the highest level of membership, then it stands to reason that these members would get first crack on level 2 doesnt it?

from what i can see, some of the changes are just a consequence of us expanding our membership base.

Our membership base has had no significant increase over the last few years.

Was thinking of buying two memberships next year - a club one that will guarantee me a Grand Final ticket, along with my usual AFL membership as I enjoy going to neutral games on a regular basis.

Anyone got any advice as to which club membership I should purchase, or if there is such thing as an add-on to AFL membership through the club that will give me priority to Grand Final tickets?

(And yes, I know I should be taking it 'one week at a time', but better to be prepared than to whine next September when I can't get a ticket... )

I am an AFL club support member - very difficult to get a seat on level 2 - reserved for medallion club, premiership club and corporates.
