In 2011, one of the main focuses was to play a home final and win it. That was achieved and the opposition we had made it even better. We were also a kick away from a prelim, which would have suited us both opposition and venue. Many people say our window is now wide open (as it should be), so the pass mark for mine in 2012 is a Grand Final at the very least, which I think is one of realistic expectations, and once you're in it, who knows what can happen on the big day.

Your pass mark?

Mine is winning the flag. I won't go jumping off a bridge if we don't, but I'd be disappointed if the club was satisfied with anything less than that.

(obviously if we make a prelim or a grannie, you'd have to be happy with still being on the right side of the bell curve. but I reckon it's now time to aim for the very top).

I'm pretty sure I just contradicted myself there. Whatever.

If we can keep the squad fit, including all our big blokes, for the pointy end of the season, then a Grand Final appearance.

Consistency is the key. In my opinion, if all 18 teams played to the best of their ability consistently for every match the top 3 teams would be Carlton, Hawthorn and Collingwood.

We lost to Collingwood twice last year. Although we played consistent football our skills just didn't match theirs. This year I expect our skills to be on par if not better than theirs.

We know we can beat Geelong and with a handful if their senior players retiring we will have the better of them.

Our first half against the Hawks was miserable and entirely forgettable but our 2nd half shows that when we play to the beat of our ability we are red hot.

Overall, we have the skill and talent to win the premiership, but this depends on how consistent we can play. Last year we all thought the Pies would be the ones to win the flag. However, the Cats were the most consistent team last year and they prevailed in the end.

We can put in a hardworking, massive preseason and are off to a great start with the young players training in Qatar and then the team training in Abu Dhabi. All the injured guys eg. Kreuzer, Hampson have all started training with the team and I'm looking forward to next season.

I'm expecting big things from this team! With good team and player management and rotations and with consistent efforts from all the players we are right up there to win it.

However, we do need to beat the Pies, the Cats, the Hawks and the Eagles. All who we weren't able to beat last year. But now I believe we can.

GO BLUES!!!

pass mark is top 4, target is to reach the GF and give ourselves the best opportunity to win it.

We'll play the hawks in the GF, must start planning our 'stop buddy' strategy now.

I have always been of the view you need to get to repeated prelims and then if you can dfo that you should jag a flag, so for me the goal is to get to a Prelim

Moving on.... Top 4 and Prelim should be the goals for mine. Top 4 gives you every opportunity to go as far as possible.
To have playing in a granny as the target you're setting yourself up for failure if injuries/form don't go as planned.
Top 4 then re-assess at the end of H&a. Even with a few injuries we are good enough to finish above eagles and perhaps hawthorn!

Prelim is the minimum requirement.

I hope for more, but that is the next step, and logic (history) suggests top four is a minimum requirement for a prelim.

It will depend on whether the players rated between 15-25 on the list can improve that extra 2-3%. I am talking about players like Henderson, Armfield, Touhy, Hampson, Warnock, Lucas, Curnow, Duigan, Laidler, White, Mclean etc. If we can get improvement out of those players plus natural improvement from Kruezer, Jamison, Gibbs and if players like Judd, Murphy, Simpson, Scotland, Garlett, Walker, Betts, Carrazzo can stay at the level they obtained in 2011. Then you would think baring injuries that Carlton would be liking its chances of a top 2 finish in 2012.

Top four finish and then onto the G for the Grandy.

Realistically I think we can match anyone including hoodoo teams Hawks and Pies.

If we really hit our stride I think the sky is the limit.
