We had a stack of players who really improved us in 2011. Some because they were new (like Duigan, Laidler, Curnow). Some because they had break out seasons (like Murph, Robbo, Yarran, Walker, Jamo). If we're going to go further into the finals next year, we obviously need further improvement. Who do you expect to step up and make us a significantly better team? I'm going for Kreuzer, Hammer, Tuohy, Gibbs and Russell. (And would love to see one of the big boys we drafted last year in Watson or Mitchell step up as well.) |

Bower was recognized as best trainer during the trip and should be pumped Hendo had a great back end to the season and expect him to step up Lucas is set to settle down and prove himself as a part of the midfield group |

Disagree on Yarran moving away from half-back. Too many times in 2011 he dashed out of the backline tearing sides apart. We've lacked that for a long time and it'd be a shame if we didn't have it again in 2012. |

Kreuzer, Tuohy, Curnow, Lucas, Henderson. Maybe Bower as well, if his body holds up. |

I try to pick one player each seaon who I think will make the biggest difference to our side compared to the year before. This year I pickde Yarran and I don't think he was far off. Next year I think it will be Kane Lucas. |

Gibbs to step up to the level of Murphy and Judd. Lucas, Watson and Touhy to be regular seniors. Collins to really press Garlett and Betts to be able to add to midfield. Duigan, Curnow, Touhy, Russell, O'Keefe, Davies to step up around the stoppages. McInnes to stand up and make debut. IMO has something to be excited about. Mitchell, Casboult and McCarthy to get 15-20 consistent games at VFL level to add depth to KP's. |

I'm really expecting more consistency from our big players who are coming off longer term injuries, Waite, Kreuzer and Hampson not to mention Jamison and Henderson who have interupted seasons. Boy did we get hammered this season. We really can't go down that road again, can we? I also think Russell and Bower will cement their spots again and become regulars. Lucas and Tuohy to stengthen our midfield. Mitchell/McCarthy pushing Waite for a regular spot. I know I've mentioned the obvious but we did suffer with talls this year and expect the majority of improvement to come for our tall stocks. |

I thinks Gibbs will follow Murphy's trajectory thus far and join him in the elite bracket - hopefully palying more as a mid and less as a Mr.Fix-it GIBBINS! ![]() |

Gibbs to become a midfield gun. Russell to win back his spot in defence and build on his 2010 form. Walker to take another step forward and show everyone why he was taken at number two in the 2003 draft. A little more speculative: O'Keefe to finally start to show something at AFL level (when he gets the opportunity). Kerr, Watson, Casboult to all get a few games in 2012 and show us if they have what it takes. |

I've always thought that season 2012/13 will be a big year for us. I'm feeling giddy that it's now that time. Our time. It might be over the whole season, or it might be a bag of 2 or 3 or 5 games, when we just go BANG! and it will all come together and go on from there. Remember to sit back and look around then, as you will be able to spot the blues supporters, the ones stretching out, slowly rubbing their hands together, a slight smirk on their face. Big improvers? The whole team again. But big leaps ahead to Kreuze, Tuohy, Hendo, Lucas, White, Collins. Bring it on ![]() |
