If you haven't seen this on the CFC site. Get on and have a look. Some fantastic photos.

This trip would have to do them some good .some of the pitcures and video coming out of it have been terrific
It has been a mix of intense training with a lot of fun activities in between
Hate to think of the cost but Im sure it will be worth it

7 Star Hotel?

How does a hotel qualify for 7 stars?

It will prove very wise indeed to train in these hot conditions

Great photos, idyllic surrounds, wonderful bonding opportunity for the team, and some nice uninterrupted training free of the usual day to day distractions of home. Wish I was there with them. Thanks for the link BV.

Dont buy the physical benefit of high altitude simulation over there at all. Need continual weeks at high altitude to stimulate erthropoietin release, increased haemoglobin concentration and improved oxygen carrying capacity of the blood. Even if they spent weeks at high altitude continuously their haemoglobin levels would drop back to normal within weeks of return to sea level. Great for distance runners peaking for a race, but will not benefit our team physiologically for even the start of the NAB cup let alone the season proper. However if they believe something is happening maybe the psychological benefits will be worthwhile.

I think it's about using those short-term benefits to max out pain, cardiovascular, VO2 and muscle fatigue thresholds.

What about if the players felt they were fitter because of Abu Dhabi?
What about if psychologically they thought they had a better preparation than ever?

Would that not give a benefit?

I'm pretty sure 3 questions in one post is against the guidelines.
(Not to mention my average concentration span)

I think some of them are; I vaguely recall it being mentioned.
