Ryan is exactly what the club needs. An injection of entrepreneurial know-how at board level who has and will continue to put his money where his mouth is. Unfortunately, I don't think this discussion will go too much further. As discovered in the past - very few online forum members are voting members of the Carlton Football Club. |

It would be great if Ryan gets on board as we seriously need an injection of youth and modern business practices at board level. |

It looks pretty good and well done for offering a place for future reference etc. But on first glance, it doesn't say anything that the incumbents won't say. Needs more "what I can personally do make the board better" rather than "we need to get better." Well, yeah, of course, you don't need to run for the board to think or say that. |

Is it a concern that we are lobbying for future board members on the same forum that is asking us about our favourite Arnott's Shapes...? (ducks) |

Might not be the best call to have him nominate his exact plans, but I think he definitely could lay down framework for areas of the club that he feel need priority treatment and areas that require a further boost in investment/development. Particularly the corporate and commercial venture side of things as that seems to be where his expertise lies. He covers some of this here, and the website obviously mentions he's happy to be alerted to an opportunity to communicate with members. If he's convincing enough, he might lift the number of voting members on this site. |

Not sure what some of you want. The current board has done an excellent job coming off a very low base. Don't forget the AFL trashed our brand, with overly harsh penalties. Collingwood, Hawthorn and Geelong are all ahead of us off-field and on. Essendon* has fallen behind. We need onfield success. That solves all problems. Finally the club has turned that corner. The next step is top 4 and then onto the flag. Members will come, the Children of the 70s-80s are now having children in big numbers. These kids will follow Carlton, to keep them we need success. Look at what Collingwood has done. The players need more education about bleeding blue, hopefully our recruiters can find some gems and our dozens of Father sons come on. Of all the clubs we are well placed to improve in the next few years. Go Blues |

Not sure what the point of that post was; the current board weren't really involved until we'd already navigated all the financial burdens and penalties. They came in when we were around about break-even, and one man pumped the majority of the cash in. Since then, I've not seen much in terms of off-the-field performance to back slap about. Honestly caufield, it's like you drift in from another universe and post. Yarran's a success here, as is Scotland, and history didn't go the way you think it did. |
