Just a little thingy......... and i'm pretty sure i'm preaching to the converted here........... but hey...........i'm still rolling with it........! saturday week ago...........about 12 hours after that friday night game....when all our guts churned with a result that FREAKED us out..........! i got a message from my Colon-Woods supporting cousin....... it was simple.........succinct.......to the point.......and succinct..... all at once.........! it said............"enjoy the week"............! yup.....that's all............"enjoy the week"..........! now.........first up.......i understand his excitement in making another GF....but with this message.....i felt a sense of entitlement....... arrogance........vindictiveness........spitefulness.........nasty'ness....... and a touch of maliciousness'ness'ss..........! all served up in a hubris wrap............! again...........i don't want to sound like a complete sook........ but really..........short of actually meeting us in the GF....... i don't really think he has the right to torment me like that..........! huh...........? HUHHHH..........? CAN I GETTA HELL YEAHHHH..........? thank you...........! so what happened then was.........i ignored him....... i wasn't going to respond to that......pfffft.....i ignored him till last thursday night when he came to mine.........! he accused me of being a bit of a sook.........i told him i felt it was a little un-warranted........and that maybe he should leave the cockiness till after the BIG DAY........ cos you know........anything could still happen..........! he started to back peddle a bit........like most of them do when they stop and think of what they've been through.........! the night went on....blah blah blah............! we left it with.........."have a nice day on saturday"..........! a quick fast forward to 7 minutes into the 4th quarter last saturday........and i'm getting my phone out......... by the 12 minute mark i started typing.......! it was simple.....succinct.........to the point........and succinct.........all at once..........! it read............"enjoy the summer".........! i sat with my finger on the send button........like a teenage boy with his hands in his pockets......trying to hide his erection during the school year photos...........! HEY.......don't you judge me.........it was 1976....and Karen Hearn from Hampton Park bus No 2 wore the SHORTEST school dress.......! right......where was i...........! so......there i was...........finger on the trigger........(so to speak again)....... as the end of the game was nearing.........i was getting ready.......! i couldn't wait........i'll teach YOU you Colon-Woods supporting cousin of mine.......send ME messages about enjoying the week..........how bout YOU enjoy the summer........! huh.........yeahhhhh...........that'll learn ya.........! CAN I GETTA-ahhhh don't worry about it.......! by the way.........i'd like to know how many of you used the following sentence in the last 1/4 on saturday.........! "BURY THE %$#@ERS.............BURY THEEEEEM"........? teehee...........i'd say most of us..........! anyway.........siren goes............and guess what.........? i didn't send it..............! nup.........couldn't bring myself to do it............! come on mate i thought.........DO it......SEND it.........! nup.........i felt like i'd be letting myself down......you're better than that mate............and don't forget.........it's a long summer..........! OHHHH yeahhhh.............! we don't have to say anything really..........no need for vitriol.......no need for hatred..........! this is a time when our fine Colon-Woods supporting friends need us most............! which brings me to the main reason i started writing............! (oh thank GOD..........you're ranting like a lunatic.........HEY..........................shut up) since saturday.........whenever i've met a Colon-Woods supporter..... i've found myself saying this..........*in hushed tone*..... *with as much earnest empathy i can muster before i burst into fits of laughter*.......*with a hand placed lightly on the shoulder*........! i say............."how you doin.......you ok....... you want to talk about anything........would you like to".......! by that stage.......i've usually had the hand hit off the shoulder....... which then in turn......gives me the right to have a little chuckle..........! honestly.........i feel SO much better with this angle of torment.... it brings out the carer in me that i am.........! SO much better..............MWA-HA-HAAAA........! and i tells yas...........i'm continuing with said angle....... alllllllll the way till the start of season 2012............! so see how ya go folk..........be kind......be gentle...... and let their lava spew like Lady Etna after a dodgy kebeb...........! and remember............! I hear ya tommi. It's cathartic and fun to hurl shit at the ferals in their moment of misery, and no-one should be begrudged of that honour. But it's also an opportunity to show them that we ARE better than they are, only confirming what we already know. But really, short of violence, there's no 'wrong' way to act around filth supporters right now, and it's yet another thing that makes a losing GF for them so so beautiful. I also used to get boners in class all the time. Almost got me thrown out of uni. |

as you know tommi - although you may have forgotten given for predilection for certain substances of mind (and perhaps memory) altering capabilities, anyway my wife (and her family) barrack for the 'pois' sadly we have an understanding that I will barrack for hers in the Big One when they are playing & she will barrack for mine when we are playing (great deal during the 00's let me tell you) so I am sitting at the pub with her family barracking (but you know secretly its all Go Cats!!!!!) when in the last quarter with the Cats up the ball goes in to the pois Forwardline and there is Cloke (or dawes, who gives a rat's) and I yell out 'Punch the ball!' and at that moment my wife and her brothers look at me and they know, and I know they know.... so far not a word has been said! |

heartwarming stories for sure. I often work in the Sports Precinct area, and sometimes frequent the westpac centre cafe....read Pie Central. That joint was buzzing last week. Back slapping...guffawing...your general 'we are about to take over the known universe' type vibe. was often humming 'I'm a spy, in the house of Pie' to that old doors tune under my breath. I'm sure the cafe girls assume most customers are breathren. So , this morning... fair to say...the usual suits and track suiters were looking a bit morbid. Waltzed in like Miss Sunshine, asking how they all were and admiring the return of such beautiful sunny weather. The barista complimented me on my positive attitude. Yes, for sure..I said. you've got to move forward. I can't wait for 2012. i just know we're gonna win the cup.

After having shit put on me for days following the "loss" by my Filth supporting mate I have to say I could not resist the tempation of the text. Mine was sent 10 mins into the last qtr but all it said (after deleting a pile of vitriol) was "Goodnight" So I figured I have retained the moral upper-hand by a long way

Yep. I too have used the silent treatment this week. It's been fantastic. Because as DB says, they know I know, and I know they know, and what's more, they know exactly what I am thinking! Making them suffer all on their own, without doing anything. Cripes that feels good.

Is it the opportunity to kick a person we call a mate, when he's down? Txt message read.
