Loved this bit Quote: when Andrew Demetriou addressed the Blues during the pay dispute Duigan sucked up a deep breath and fronted him at the end, voicing his and others' concerns at the hypocrisy of football's relationship with gambling.
“I'd had a teammate come up to me who was struggling with some gambling issues and said that was something he found difficult,” he says. Demetriou agreed there was a problem, assured Duigan it was being tackled, and doubtless left knowing he'd met a significant player in the game. |

Doesn't read to me as though Nick just divulged that gambling story to the interviewer off his own bat, more that the journo had already heard it and asked him about it. |

Thats right it wasnt paid. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have to say that that one (either a mark or chopping of the arms) and the Shuey incorrect disposal in the second quarter both resulting in goals were more clear cut cases of 'just plain bad umpiring' and costly in the long run than the now talked about 50/50 free to Walker in the dying seconds..... which by the way was play on IMO Waiting for the Geish to give them the all clear by about 4.00pm today. ![]() |

He'll also make no mention of the way the umpiring went from hair trigger to "lost my whistle" over the course of a game. |
