Thought about it and flights are much too expensive. Jet Star is a crock...all very well to offer a cheap fare one way, but it's the return flight where they sting you.

Remember too that your ticket includes free public transport to & from the game. If you are staying close to the city you could walk there but the trains are pretty good.

Im flying out first thing Friday morning and coming back the Sunday after the game. Will be my first ever trip to WA so really looking forward to it. Is pretty pricey for just 2 nights, but worth every cent i reckon.

Not sure how big Perth is or anything, but might head to Ascot racecourse during the day on Saturday then leave early to head to Subi. Anybody know any good places to watch the Friday night game?

I remember it being a really good game and great atmosphere. Juddy played well and David Ellard kicked a very long important goal (in his first game?)

You shouldn't have too much problem getting from the races to Subi, bout $20.00 cab fare. Tell the taxi driver to drop you near the Vic Hotel (if he's from overseas make sure he goes to SUBIACO) and walk from there (just follow everyone else) after a few beers in the beer garden , it's a smokers area but lots of Blues normally and much easier to get a beer.

Friday the pub in Perth for footy (IMO) is the Inglewood, it's flower free normally. Bout a $15.00 dollar cab fair from the centre of Perth. Be careful though they normally show it live even if it's on delay through all legitimate channels (if you get my drift). Plus the Kebab shop two doors down is real good, although the pub itself does a cracking steak sandwich.

What side of the ground you sitting on and where you staying. ?

Cheers for the advice pal,. sounds good.

Im in section 311 which is between the point post and the 50mtr line on the left hand side of the maps. Im staying at a place about 5 mins from the airport, which is also a stones throw away from the track, which is why i had the idea of heading there.

Yeah they gave me the option to click on the Carlton Area when i purchased the tickets on Ticketek, so im expecting a few Carlton faithful up there hopefully. Never been to Subiaco but looked up a few images and looks similar in size to the Gabba, which is a sensational ground to watch footy from.

If you are staying near the airport, the best area to go to would be Victoria Park (don't worry it's not Collingwood) it's on that side of the river. Bars everywhere.

Excellent pubs through there almost within a couple of hundred mts of each other all on Albany Hwy.

Start at the Broken Hill Hotel and head south on Albany Highway and you've got The Publican, The Balmoral and The Victoria Park Hotel (don't confuse with Vic Hotel in Subi) and a mountain of restraunts in between.

I'm not a fan of the Casino but there's a couple of bars there, but not my thing.

Your seats are on the opposite side to the Vic Hotel, but its on;ly another 5 or so minute walk, but you can get dropped of at the Subiaco Hotel and walk from there, it's a it closer..

You do know people on this forum have met you?

You held the banner by yourself before the game?

I'm very similar. Flying out Thursday night after work and coming back late Monday night (but I stay with a friend in Perth so I don't have to pay for accom). Last time I was in Perth was Juddy's first return to Perth also.

Can't wait. Actually booked my flights 3 weeks ago, bit of a risk but saved a fair bit on price in the end

Im the same Captain Dan, i just cant justify blowing $1500 to go over to Perth for the weekend.

Would love to see us win a interstate final live after being in Brisbane and Sydney the last two years though
