At the time of printing, who knows what the result of this game will mean?

Apart from the old 'momentum going into finals' thing.

And defeating Milne and Co.

Important that the guys rest up, that those who need game time get it in the 2's, but most important of all is that they take in what happened tonight, hold onto whatever anger or frustration they're now feeling and @#$%&! learn from it. Because I can guarantee the Saints will try to emulate what the Hawks did to us tonight, which they're more than capable of doing.

Non-negotiable.

We must win this.

They will push extra men back into our 50 and then rebound. It will frustrate us as it did against hawthorn, Bulldogs and when the Crows did it.

We will struggle to win..... but all won't be lost as we will still smash the swans and then beat the Eagles.

How anyone can think we'll beat the Swans and then the Eagles at Subi after tonight's first half is beyond me.

Very likely it will be a dead rubber for both teams given our loss tonight.

We ballsed up the first half no doubt but we can learn from that and improve on areas we were no good in tonight. We are better than Sydney so we will win that. WC will get slammed by collingwood and head back after a long round trip a bit flat. We travel well and play
Subi very well.

I would play Hampson for sure. Either Kreuze can have a rest or Warnock can play in the 2s.

Wished I had your confidence Club29, first final more than likely at the Etihad, a ground where we are no good things to win and just cant see us winning at Subi against WCE if we were to win our first final as we struggle big time against any good teams who press hard against us.

We have had chances to make a statement in big games in the last couple of years and failed each time. Really hard to stomach tonights effort, we can sugar coat all we want with another honourable loss but that first half when the game was on the line with the pressure on was nothing short of pathetic.

we know what setanta might offer - perhaps it might be worth experimenting in the last round and bringing someone different like having casboult up forward or another look at watson down back?

No point suger coating tonight. No point getting down about it (not say you are) either. Just learn from it and move on. Get solution focused and do everything we can to be right for the first final. Whether we like it or not we are in the finals.
Lets give it our best shot.

This St Kilda game will be another good test for us with finals approaching. Our run in should teach us a lot.

In all seriousness, is it worth experimenting further with Jamo up forward, or am I being ridiculous? Particularly if Waite doesn't come back? Obviously we need Jamo down back but we need a target up forward more, and Hendo is doing well back there. Jamo really gave us something up forward.

Result of this game matters zero...

We now essentially have two bye's going into the finals and need to manage our list accordingly.

Play whoever needs game time and rest whoever needs it for the following week.

Maybe try a player or two that hasn't seen much senior football just to see if they can offer something for the next 4 weeks.
