"The likelihood is Carlton will have a first final against Sydney at Etihad, with a probable trip to Perth the following week if it were to beat the disappointing Swans" Surely we wont be playing at edihad but the MCG? Does anyone know what the rules are? |

If we lose, expect Mike to jump ship by Saturday morning, and write that we haven't claimed a big scalp. |

What a crap segment. They only took 3 questions about Carlton and answered about 5-6 on other unrelated topics. What a waste of time. Won't bother listening in again to any segment run by Mike Sheenan. ![]() |

Expect 2 games at Etihad and 2 at the MCG the first week of the finals. Collingwood and Geelong will get the MCG, which means the Blues will get Etihad if finishing 5th and playing anyone except Essendon*. |

If we play North would that get the MCG in preference to St K/Ess? |

I was under the impression that finals scheduling is generally based on the premise that a higher ranked team is afforded some form of advantage/preference, not only over it’s direct opponent, but also over other teams below it. |

Same - you would think that if all pans out, that the Scum and Streak would want to play at Etihad - their home ground! |

If the AFL are so worried about getting an Etihad final, why on earth did they not play Geelong v Freo there last year? Surely that was a perfect opportunity for an Etihad final if there ever was one. While playing a final at Etihad against the Swans would be disappointing compared to playing them at the G, if we instead end up finish 4th at the expense of West Coast I am worried about the second week of the finals. Let’s say we lose to Collingwood week 1 (fairly likely, unfortunately), we could end up playing West Coast in a knockout final in week 2 at Etihad. Given the way the Eagles play Etihad and the way we play Etihad, that’s not a prospect I like the sound of at all…I’d almost rather play them at Subiaco. Of course I’d be happy to play them at the MCG, but wouldn’t be trusting the AFL to schedule the game there… |

Week 2 is typically the worst attended week of finals. |
