Well, it's not exactly a sign of consistency either when you go through the guys likely to get a game next week.

Which begs the question, what did Hawthorn put on the ground that day?

My vivid memory of this game is Callum Chambers doing himself a nasty leg injury in the dying minutes, staying on till the final siren virtually on one leg, doing his all to keep the ball locked in our attacking 50.

Think he played maybe 2 games for us after that?

Great bloke was Callum.

Given it's over 6 years ago and that we were such a poor team back then, it's actually quite surprising that we have as many as 6 players of our current day best 22 from that game and one other still on our list.

Not sure who else from our 2005 list would still be on our list today - JR and Setanta are two more that come to mind.

Both Setanta and JR had yet to play a senior game by that stage, but were to make their debuts later in 2005...

There is 8 there still on the current day list the 6 highlighted and Houlers and Waitey. Is quite remarkable considering how poor we were.

I'm even more stunned that Port Adelaide are now worse than we were back then. I really didn't think that would be possible, but they clearly are worse (I realise this is slightly off topic, but anyway).
