http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/ ... fault.aspx good read about WOW Jones but sheesh cant these people do some research, wow didnt play in 79 GF hate these errors, i recently wrote to the footy record which had a photo of phil maylon and rene king battling for the ball in 1979 GF, do ya flower research dudes |

Nice read despite the errors. I was in Hamburg three years back and went to a beer hall with a few Aussie mates who played for the Hamburg Dockers in the German AFL league. They knew Wow and invited him along for the night. Ended up having a few beers with him and some photos taken - the man is enormous! Was a good bloke with plenty of funny stories from his playing days. |

heres my email to Col luckily i spelt the names right he replied and by saying thanks for spotting that out , he said they expanded the range of the photo and saw david young of collingwood there and that it was the 1980 semi final, decent of him to bother calling me back. Hi col I always look forward to your section in footy record Just for your information the picture with kink and maylin states 1979 GF, not sure where the picture is actually taken from but maylin didn’t play in 1979 Regards |
