At some point you have to define yourself as an individual and a team. Today is the day for this Blues team to let everyone know it has finally arrived.

kind of...
but can't help thinking he's setting us up for a fall.
I don't for a minute think he thinks we can win today/tomorrow.
However..
I'm starting to think/hope we can
reckon the team believe we can...
so anything can happen.
good to hear him use the words 'beloved blues.'

or is he pitching for a job?? hmmmm

Paul Roos wrote:
The last game of football I saw before arriving at the Junction Oval to join Fitzroy under-19s was the 1979 Grand Final.

I was there when my beloved Blues beat the Magpies and saw one of my heroes, Wayne Harmes, legally knock the ball back to Ken Sheldon for a game-turning goal.

As a Carlton supporter until that 1980 season I'm well aware of the significance of today's game.

I finally understand Roos' dislike of Carlton. Roos is Carlton's version of Robert Walls. Playing against the Blues like Walls who played against his former club Essendon* has made Roos hate us. Walls wouldn't have liked Essendon* with Sheedy as their coach in the eighties. Roos may have grown to hate Fitzroy's former "landlords" who were winning flags under an arrogant Elliott and Collins.

Today could be one of the great days of the history of the Carlton Football Club.

We haven't beaten anyone of note yet.

I don't expect anything to change this week.
