The Blues had a mighty good day today beating the Tigers by 103 points in perfect conditions. The record margin of 115 points was in danger today. However it would have been a tragedy if the record was beaten today because we managed to beat Richmond just four years after their last premiership in appalling conditions in round 14 of 1984 by a record margin. This was a truly spectacular win in the wet and should be acknowledged.

We smashed them by over 100 points in 94 as well.

Pretty sad that even in our darkest period over the last decade they were little better.

Mind you the first time we played them in 2005, was the only time I have left a game at half time.

Was that the game at Princes Park and a big crowd turned up for the game, but it was obvious after about 10 minutes the Tigers were going to get smashed.

The commentator (i don't remember who) said " it's a huge crowd in here so they've locked the gates so the Tigers supporters can't leave early" .

I was at that game in 1984 - Wow, seems like yesterday. Standing in the mud on the wing packed in like sardines - slab boxes over the head to keep dry and warm-ish. The bar was down the muddy slop up against the fence - I was too young to drink, but that's where we got the boxes from. I didn't want that day to end :smoking: .

When I talk with people about footy in the old days, that's the game that stands out a mile.
