Grigg had a front row seat

Con: Not REALLY a con, but holding that 20+ goal lead would've been nice :smoking:
Also saw quite a few empty seats in the Carlton cheer squad. What gives?
(Yes, I'm aware of the irony of someone who wasn't at the game asking this question)

No Kreuzer, Waite, Houlihan and Henderson for a lot of this year, so our forwardline hasn't been at it's absolute best. :banghead: :smoking:

dont think ive ever seen an MCG game where the crowd sized literally halved at 3/4 time.
there was a huge exodus, i reckon even a fair few blueys decided to beat the traffic home too

But watching the highlights there seemed a lot of gaps at our end from the first bounce, while the Tigers end was jam-packed. Were they perhaps in the pocket and out of view? It just seemed odd.

Pro: - the teams determined reaction to losing last week, and the margin. and Waite's 'clunks'
- not over celebrating or getting carried away, especially post match in the rooms, all very calm, almost subdued, so we're obviously focussed on much bigger things, and arent satisfied with these lowly scalps

(also loved how no-one really booed Grigg, instead we cheered him, for leaving)

Con: destroying crap sides when theyre having a crap day isnt going to help beat the best ones later this year (well maybe a little bit)

cant say I did a headcount but I guess the Richmond cheersquad seemed to be seated much more huddled/crammed together, and hence from a distance looked more populated, whereas ours was spread out a bit wider than theirs, so it may well have appeared a tad sparse on TV, crowd number was down regardless. 50,000 for two clubs with combined m/ship of about 85,000, I guess flights to Bali are full at the moment.

Pros:

Great response to last week's effort.
Great percentage booster and thoroughly enjoyable for us fans.
Warnock's ruckwork. Best game for a while.
Thought Eddy was terrific again. And great to have Waite back. And loved Kreuzer's contesting when down forward.
Robbo, Judd and Murphy (and their midfield help).
Despite the 4 goals from Riewoldt, I thought Henderson was impressive in the marking contests.
I really enjoyed seeing Gibbs get some time in the forward line.

Cons:

White's injury.
Richmond kicking 4 goals in the last 6 minutes.

Pro`s:
Robbo- is not just bash and crash, he`s now a skilled, integral part of the side. Waite and Laidler. You really noticed the grunt these guys gave compared with last week.
Wish we could play at the "G" every week.
Gibbs terrific.
Ellard responded well.
I know this hasn`t worked at Ess` but could we play all three ruckmen in the same side? Kruze perm` forward, Warnock and Hammer rotating off the bench.
Our rucks are more mobile than Essendon*`s and just in light of what WCoast did to us last week with their talls.
Good parma at the "All Nations" followed by courtesy bus to the ground.
Good times to be a Blueboy.

With a few minutes to go, and a 100 point win in the bag Bryce Gibbs still desperately dove across jack reiwolts boot as he had a snap for goal after playing on from a mark. Says a whole lot about Bryce and the teams drive for success this year. Outstanding.

PROS

A real team effort.
Commitment. Attitude. Teamwork. All first class.
Robbo is an amazing footballer. The skill this guy displays. Ball on a string.
Backline and Midfield worked well.
Gibbs was amazing...too smart for most and so cool under pressure.
Hendo in the backline showed his class and versatility.
Bettsy and Garlett still unbeatable.
Waite definetely straightens us up. You can see why Ratts values him in the forwardline. He's come of age.
Yesterday proved that there was no room in the best 22 for an unskilled wimp like Grigg.

CONS

White's injury
Allowing a few junk time goals in the last.

GREAT TO THRASH THE TIGGERS......everytime

I still don't understand why he played. I like him as a player but plays an ordinary game last week after a long break from injury and then promoted. Surely playing Austin or OKeefe for another week would of been better.

Not fair on him or side. Now suffers another injury possibly because he wasn't ready. Poor decision in my opinion!

Everything else was great.

Pros:-

Judd added another 3 votes surely.
Robbo was outstanding
Forward line just worked. Great understanding between players.
Warnock played easily his best game in the navy blue. Brilliant 2nd efforts.
Still have Dugian, Curnow, Jamo and Hammo to come back!
Didn't end up putting a bet on Richmond because I was so confident of us wining........(nah just kidding, my sportsbet account was down!!!! Haha)

Cons:-

Went to the game with my Richmond supporting future father in law so had to be on my best behavior. :-(
Umps in the 1st half were just plain shit!
Don't like Henderson in the backline - but where else do you put him???
Waite's hammy twinge in the last. We need him against the bulldogs.
Back to Shitihad stadium next week :-(
