http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/e ... 1g83r.html Excellent piece including absolute gems: "Whatever is great about Australian football was expressed by Jesaulenko at some point in his career..." "To play with Chris Judd is to be challenged to meet his standards." "Robinson looks like a sea eagle that's been plucked of every feather it ever possessed.... When he goes down he invariably gets up and does something inspired as if he's had a good idea while lying flat on his back..." "Betts is about as small as you can get and survive ...not a single tailor has been found to make a pair of shorts that fit him. Each week it looks like he's wearing a pair of umbrellas." "I look at Carlton and see a team that has seriously started to explore just how good it is. I would expect it to improve further before the finals." Of course, this week and next we will learn about our resolve and mental strength - 2 games we should win; 2 games we must win. Notwithstanding all the media focus and adulation. PS. If Matthew Watson can turn into the player we selected him to become, LOOK OUT!!! |

Reading Martin Flanagan on a Saturday is always a delight. Loved the multi-cultural angle on our club. |

Spot on Surrey - talk about good news week Is this going to have a -ve impact on the players? Probably not, hopefully there is too much heat for spots for complacency to be bred Still, if we're as good as the media suddenly think we are, we should account for Swans and WC ... ?? |

That article is fantastic, just as 17th points out. We have to beat the Swans. We say we want to earn respect again for the Old Dark Navy Blues. The media are finally giving us trespect in spades. Now it's important to show our level of maturity in 2011, to handle the hype. Lets back up Flanagan's expectation of another Carlton win. |

I enjoyed the article too, but isn't this the same bloke who wrote a couple of months ago that he had lost his passion for Carlton? |

Carlton's multi cultural was better, all different backgrounds coming together as one, shame that society doesn't reflect this also. |
