Post subject:  Blue Debuts....

After the hilarious Zach Tuohy bounce, Bomba Sheldon, Patzfitrick and I were pondering other great highs & lows from debut games to highlight inside the Blueseum somehow. We came up with:

HIGHS
Goals with first kicks - Ratts, Setanta, Garlett etc.
Walker's debut and flying mark

LOWS
Simpson not touching the ball until his fourth AFL match
Hanna's knee injury
Balkwill's only game being in light blue (M&M game)

Any others?

Kouta went from the low of having his first kick being smothered to the high of chasing up the smothered kick, winning back the ball and snapping a goal.

Mitch Robinson had a pretty high debut, slotting 3 (including one brilliant one) in the smashing of the Tiges

I think AJ had a pretty good debut in tagging roles especially.

Recently delisted Stephen Browne had a pretty decent debut game. I think it was an interstate game?

Mick McGuane and Glenn Hawker had forgettable debuts, simply because they should never have been given a Navy Blue jumper in the first place.

re: McGuane - was that the one where he'd had the injections and half the kicks rolled off his leg...or was that all of his games?

A long time ago but i remember watching Vinnie Waite kick 2 goals with his first 2 kicks in Senior footy vs Melbourne at the MCG back i think in 1966.

I also was there for the Warren Ralph game however Andrew Walkers first game was the best debut game that i can recall from any Carlton player.
