Just watching AFL teams and a couple of rumours from the gimme something segment: 1. Tony Shaw: Jeannie Pratt to be Pres by the end of the year. Think this one has been mentioned on TC previously, but Shaw reckons Sticks is getting restless and talks have taken place over last 48 hours. 2. Brian Taylor: A senior management change on way. He didn't give any further detail; do we know what this might be about? Immediate thought is it might involve Swann, but not sure that would be the case??? |

Thats the rumour that has been going about for a while. Cook in Swann out and Sticks being replaced by one of the Pratt family. Most would assume there would be a change coming. End of season would be my guess but we will wait and see. |

Cook for Swann has been circulating for the last 6 to 9 months at least and apparently will be bankrolled by Matheson if we get him |

Swann has done a brilliant job, why would we replace him if he didn't want to go of his own accord? |

Yeah, Cook was the other name I suspected. From memory Dick Pratt didn't go after him because of his relationship with Costa. However, as Bluemark suggests, Swann has been, by and large, very good for us. Maybe Swann will be Visy ambassador #2 and not Murph after all, haha. |

Jeanne is 74 this year, so I wouldn't get carried away with Presidential rumors. It's probably wise to remember that her announcement to the joining the Board came on the eve of Quentin Bryce (G-G) calling for more female representation on Boards in Australia, which occurred on International Women's Day. I'm not suggesting Jeanne's appointment was a PR exercise - but realistically, Carlton aren't going to say no to the Pratt family in foreseeable future. Dick Pratt's contribution and legacy left is too great. I'd be more tempted to look at Ruffy Geminder or Richard Newton making a move...but I guess we'll find out soon enough! |

Irrespective of what happens, Swann has brought us back from a wooden spoon and financial struggle street back into the "powerhouse" big 4 where we belong. He's been in the job for just over 4 years - many CEOs only have a shelf life of about that time because they itch for the challenge. I am thankful for what he's done. If he has to go, then I hope we don't forget the work he's done. |

I must say I thought the story on TFS about a challenge to a president was going to be us after reading this thread. Dont really care what the make up of our board is as long as there are no passengers and we're actually doing some stuff. There are still a couple of obvious areas that need work. |

Nothing wrong with pushing the issue, need to keep key people on their toes. The trouble at times in a lot of businesses is that once good work has been done, those that have done it may become complacent - keep them motivated and striving for continous improvement ![]() |

Raphael Geminder (Jeanne Pratt's son-in-law) will be the next President and it will happen within the next 6-12 months. Swann has been a concern for the board for the last 10 months. He is seen to be a lazy CEO, who has not done much to get us in a position off field to content with the Pies, Bombers, Eagles or Crows. The Mars partnership was by in large Dick's doing, Swanny just finalised it. Since Dick's passing, Swanny has actually done not much other than bring in some brilliant Assistant Coaches. If and only if we are able to attain the services of Cook, Swanny will be gone, if that goes by the way side, Swann stays. |

That is the biggest concern regarding Swann - a lot of the major blocks put in place to improve the club were essentially added while Dick was around and while Greg was valuable in finalising and controlling these improvements, he has not done very much since his passing And this is the concrn and perhaps may be acted on by years end |
