Gez i must be hormonal today.
That article brought a little tear to the eye it did.
It's just so great to see the results of Ratts continuing work on himself..his dedication to the players and the club..and best of all, the players support for him.
Interesting that Ratts has been trying to initiate more family friendly days..and has marketing ideas.
I think it's a shame that Swanny closes him down on those ideas.
We need to improve big time in that area as well.
Maybe Swanny needs some leading teams feedback??
Time to sit in the chair big fella.

Motice the Meedja are all slowly turning around, as they don't want to look like fools who didn't see us coming.

No mention of how we tanked & cheated to steal Judd away from Richmond, even though they had the box seat.

Or how Ratts played a major part in encouraging the disgraceful behavior of Brendan Fevola

Also no mention about how superstar Grigg wanted to move to Punt Road to get away from the toxic booze-cruising Carlton club

Correct.............Swann is a far bigger problem than Ratten.Laughable that he is advising Ratts to stick to his coaching.Should take his own advice and stay in the front office instead of sticking his treacle beak into the footy dept.

Swanny needs to leave the footy dept alone, that was one of his biggest issues at the Pies - but they told him to pull his head and worry about off-field issues

Its more a reflection of Carlton's dire financial situation at the start of 2008 when Carlton could not afford a decent coach. This is why Ratten was selected as coach. He was happy to take the job for peanuts and he was happy to surround himself with coaches that had never been assistants before. Thus ensuring Carlton saved a few hundred thousand dollars to go towards the redevelopment of Princes Park.

Credit to Ratts for putting the ego aside and having the adaptability to bring in assistants to delegate to. Obviously a much more settled and structured setup at the moment.

It is though a recognition that appointment of inexperienced assistant coaches when he started was yet another mistake of the last decade.

We couldn't afford to splash out on name coaches like Collingwood, Essendon*, Hawthorn and Geelong.

Teague and Lappin are now working with the much improved West Coast and the reigning Premiers.

Harvey is at St Kilda.

I doubt that considering RP was running the place at the time.

Teague , Lappin and Harvey now have experience (all sorts of experiences  ), thanks to us , and are working with very experienced senior coaches.
