Good work Bomba - nice effort to put that together.

Dont suppose there is anyway of establishing whether this is more or less successful (or higher recruiting rate) than other Clubs?

ps Good find on Curnow - Id been thinking that myself, in an ashamedly racist way.

I was wondering about Curnow as well, but Dooky came good on the mail for that one

Try this wiki link for indigenous players, you'd think Essendon*, Fitzroy and WCE would be the leading clubs???

I was also under the impression that Curnow was of aboriginal heritage, that was until a few weeks ago when i watched the Marngook Footy Show and they DIDNT highlight his name in the selected teams.
Even they missed him.

Thats a good point Kezza as I watch the show every so often and I haven't seen his name highlighted like they would normally do.

I only found out recently that one of the female presenters Shelley Ware is a keen Blues supporter

Earlier this season Eddie Betts become the highest Indigenous goal scorer for the Blues when he passed Syd Jackson 165 goals.

This week Eddie Betts this passes Syd Jacksons 136 games. Age is an interesting stat, Eddie will 24y and 246 days old when he breaks the record. Syd Jackson played his first game 24 years and 278 days!!! Note: Syd's last game he was aged 32y and 79 days.

Good stats Bomba, we'll make sure they're added to the game review.

Look at this link, back then they thought Afghan heritage was better than Aboriginal, it was a different generation and way of thinking back then

If the Blues had of drafted Sam Sheldon, the son of Ken Sheldon under the father-son like they tried, he would have been in this side as his mum is indigenous.

Interesting this, as in how far down the generational lines do you go in assessing someone's heritage?
The indigenous link for Sam comes from his maternal Great Grandmother, who was Aboriginal.

The AFL has counted Sam Sheldon on their list of indigenous players, not sure how much you consider the AFL as being gospel in such matters, maybe we should refer this to Jason Misfud for his guidance.........
