Hey guys,

I'm doing Live Below the Line this year. It's a week aimed at raising awareness of global poverty. Basically, you can only spend $2 a day for food and drink, matching what the average is around the world for people to spend.

It's day 4 today and the hunger is starting to set in pretty badly. I just thought I'd approach the Talking Carlton community and say that if anyone has anything that they could spare to donate towards this great cause, then please go to:

www.livebelowtheline.org.au/hungergames

and donate towards my cause. Money donated will be going towards breaking the cycle of poverty through education in Papua New Guinea. You can read about this on the page.

Thanks guys and please pass on the word!

P.S For the second year in a row, Carlton will be playing on the Friday night during this week, that means that while all my friends are sitting there eating pies and hot dogs, I'll be waiting until midnight to have some proper food. Hopefully the Blues can make that wait worthwhile!

that sounds like a very worthy cause.
try baking a potato..split it..put whatever you have in it..wrap it in foil.or whatever you can use to keep it warm..and eat that at the footy.

Whilst I may not necessarily agree with the cause, good on you for actually doing something to support and raise awareness for something that you believe in trying to make a difference in.

Imo, you should try to get your friends to give up their pies/hotdogs for the night - would make it easier for you to last the match!
