Clash jumpers suck dogs balls generally. Glenelg have trialled one over here in the SANFL and it's abhorrent. We have a historical jumper that we can use so hopefully when a final decision is made they go for that.

I did. The receptionist or whoever answers their emails said they liked it and forwarded to Swann and Marketing Manager.

Won't hold my breath on seeing it on the field but I think anyone with a view on the jumper should let the club know - positive or negative. If nobody tells them how much they dislike the pale blue they will probably just run with it again next year.

There was a poll on the other site which currently shows 72% aren't in favour of the pale blue.

Maybe the club could put forward several options and let members vote on their website?

Great stuff mate

Any chance of seeing an inverse of it? Might defeat the purpose with it being blue at the top, but I'd prefer to see a white monogram.

Greg swann with KB on Friday said that the new clash strip is in final stages. Just needs the requisite ticks from the AFL.

Hopefully SOSAV's idea is being given serious consideration.

He didn't give anything away but recently someone mentioned Gibbs was sporting a gunmetal grey polo top.

Didn't Man U have something similar.?

Just got told that the club will be dumping the Baby Blue for next season. Likely to revert to the reverse strip of Navy Monogram on a White background, but with more Navy featured. I wonder if this is similar to the one that Sosav posted in this thread a few weeks ago. More interesting times ahead. Go Blues!

I don't think it's as big an issue as others seem to think, but the inverted home strip (i.e. blue monogram on white background) just seems so obvious and natural and looks the best anyway. The baby blue doesn't really make much sense when our main strip is so easily invertible.

yep and they got thrashed once while wearing it and never wore it again. Fergie blamed the top saying that the players "couldn't see each other"!

maybe we have been wearing grey for the last few months and haven't realised it!

Did y'all see Essendon*'s new clash strip on the News tonight?

Charcoal grey with the red sash....looks good; and not that much different to the normal strip.

Actually don't mind the Lance Armstrong "LIVESTRONG" yellow guernsey we wore against Freo. Why not have the white and yellow jumpers as the alternatives, in addition to the traditional Navy Blue.

Really? I hate the light blue so much I was considering boycotting any games where we wear it. I follow the navy blues, not the light blues. It was so obvious that the original away strip just needed some tinkering with more navy blue in it. Personally I would rather we stood our ground in the first place and said no to an away strip.

I really like SOSAV's design - and you don't have to loose the chevrons - helps keep the traditional aspect. Would like to see that.

Otherwise, it would be fanstastic to see, as others have put forward, us to use it to raise funds for a charity. Eg Pink for breast cancer, have that good looking silver/grey version for diabetes/asthma.
Even a red one for Aids (Brock could do the PR release). (sorry... no way we would wear red).

So many causes that we could help (Legacy, Salvos). And it would be fantastic for our club's publicity.

Would be a great PR image for the club. We would be able to help the profile for the diseases and vastly improve the clubs perception. The Breast Cancer iniative that Cricket Australia has done with the Sydney test is a great example. People get behind it. Imagine that in those games, we actually have positive style press (ala Essendon*) and people turning up to support it even if not a Bluebagger.

Every club has a clash jumper. They get changed, worn, dumped, revised and no-one particulary cares about them or cares about them. People would care about this one. People would remember and people would actually benefit. As would the club. Can't say that about too many other clash jumpers.

Clash guernsey isnt really about clashes.

Expect a different one every 2 years.

I think you might have misunderstood.

My preferred away top is the original one, i.e., the inverse of the traditional strip - instead of having the white monogram on the navy jumper, just flip it so that it becomes a navy monogram on a white jumper. It is so simple, obvious and looks good. No need to introduces any new colours or shades, just invert the traditional top.

I am not a huge fan of the light blue - neither the concept nor the look - and hope we dispense with it.
