Disagree Camelboy. In this football age of equalisation, sanitation, ground rationalisation and the basic ironing out of any individualism, our colours are an important distinguishing/separating feature. What`s next, Nike pay us to sing their company jingle after a win?
I look upon clubs like St Kilda and North who have a different jumper for every round with contempt and are glad we don`t do this.
I understand there`s more to the club than this but there is too much change for change`s sake and some things shouldn`t be messed with.

I take your point, but we're not changing our jumper every week, or our song. In which case, there's still much more to our club, much more that makes it great, than can seriously be threatened by wearing a light blue jumper a few times a year.

There is a limit, you're right, but I reckon the current arrangement is fine.

I still maintain we don't need a clash jumper but who am I but a simple ordinary fan that goes along most weeks buys memberships every year but club knows best (p.r.i.c.e.l.e.s.s) and other posters' opinions are more valid than mine and the AFL says so and.................. takes a deep breath

...seeing we're too gutless to stand up to the AFL, I must pledge my allegiance to the white jumper but I don't hate the nancy blue one as much as I did before

I would on the other hand love for the AFL to stop these @#$%&! newbie club jumpers from progressively getting darker from year to year, I'm looking at you Shockers, Egirls, Power

i dont really like any of the white jumpers in the AFL. ours included. reckon they just look insipid. the non-negotiable for me is the CFC logo.

But what about the chamois?

And the lace up front?

And the striped socks?

And the orange cap?

And NO logo?

If all you traditionalists are right, shouldn't we be wearing this?

How about you get over yourself? You're not the only person here who'd prefer we didn't wear a clash guernsey.

How hard is it to accept the club doesn't make this decision because it thinks it knows best?

THE AFL DICTATE THAT WE MUST HAVE A CLASH GUERNSEY. WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE.

Granted - but:

surely the club has a say in the design and/or the colours?

And surely the members of the CFC are entitled to have their opinion heard on such a fundamental change to the very fabric of the club?

I did too !

And it was worn for a great cause which could easily be reinforced each time it was worn.

It would therefore stand for something in the community.

And to add to this, while I quote myself, it could have been worn in the Melbourne game where ONJ is singing and the meaning associated with Stynes' plight.

But alas.....

Yes the club decides the design. You're making a very different argument to the one Hornet is making.

Muzza,I think you are onto something here...

Coming up with a great charity jumper (that could be any colour) that looks great/different and helps a great cause. Shows the club has a soul and is leading the way with new ideas.

Dare we suggest the yellow one that raises money for breast cancer awareness?

The powder blue one for Royal Childrens Hospital on a game played on Good Friday?

Maybe a cool green one for a Visy recycling promotion etc?

Somebody stop me!!
