Slightly miffed that this is at Etihad.

Curnow's out with an AC. There's an opportunity for either McLean or Lucas.

White and Laidler to come back in as Thornton put in a fairly average showing due to poor body work. Seems to be too light to contest. Joseph out to balance things back up again.

Early prediction:

Out: Thornton, Joseph, Curnow (inj)
In: White, Laidler, McLean

Sub: Robinson

I won't hold my breath waiting for the AFL to schedule matches for "best fit".

Crowd wise the MCG would be the go, and it would certainly help us, because we always seem to play better at the MCG; maybe that's why it's at Etihad?. :sly:

Curnow's probably out with what must have been a subluxation (partial dislocation for those unwilling to google), but a nasty one. There's an opportunity for either McLean or Lucas.

I agree with your ins/outs ATM, McClean because really need another ball winner with Curnow out.

I reckon the sub is really a position Robbo can make his own.

Come on some time in the second half (that's when he's most damaging anyway), and just go hell for leather at everyone, and everything.

My other idea was Armfield to defence (as he did), Russell to midfield and bringing in Lucas if we feel Brock still needs more miles in the legs.

We'll get to see ourselves via ABC1/iView this week, though.

Another Bullants game to come, but till then:

In: Laidler, McLean
Out: AJ, Curnow

White might miss another few games if he has a fracture? Curnow is wait and see.

How good is it that we have a player like Brock ready to rumble!

What's the deal with the 12/10 rule this season?

Does it still exist?

So can we load up the Bullants with guys we think need game time?

Gee how much will it ruin the media's Pies v Cats narrative if we jag this one?

Go blues!

I think we can. But the only one you'd consider would be Armfield. Thornton wouldn't get a rest until way later in the season otherwise.

For the punters out there this will be a sensational line bet if Geelong beat collingwood.

Blues in a canter. Cats will be rooted after the game of the millenium. Reckon our streak will run similar to 2000 when the bombers had their massive streak and we chalked up 13 or 15 in a row or whatever as well.

Not sure whether we'll release a dvd but.

Really want to see Gibbs play on Enright. He can shut down a very important player and be able to kick and set up a few goals as well.

Cats to be without Selwood - dislocated shoulder and Mooney - suspension.

We'll bring in Kreuzer and Lucas for Thornton and Curnow.

Blues by 23 points and 2nd on the ladder :smoking: .

Early days but it will certainly be a hard week for Geelong with Collingwood then us.

I'd still be hoping for a Cats win, as always, but if the filth want to leave them a bit bruised I won't mind too much.

The key to this game will be efficiency. We've been inefficient but beaten middle-road teams through will alone, this will be the big test. Cats will punish us if we don't get that scoreboard ticking over, and it could get ugly if we're not at our best.

I hope we bring Watson in for Hawkins and utilise his kicking to break the lines.

I'm up for Watson coming in.

Was it just me or did anybody else think Thornton looked out of it last night. Plus, he was back to his usual sooky self throwing his arms in the air blaming everybody but himself!

McLean will probably come in for Curnow  What a gem that guy has been this year! Hurry back ed.

If this was @ The MCG i'd be a little bit more confident!

Definitely. Depending on results next round it will be 1st or 2nd vs 3rd. Even before the season playing out it seemed odd having it Friday night at Etihad when both teams draw big crowds.

Yep, thought the same and had him & Joseph as the ones in the firing line for Geelong + Curnow with his shoulder.
Curnow > McLean
Joseph > Tuohy (or Laidler, inj?)
Thornton > Laidler (inj?) /White (inj?) /Watson /Henderson (the defender)

You'd think Laidler, if fit, will be back v his old team. Just need the right mix of height & speed in the back 6 for matchups.
