After Round 24: Seventh. The Blues slipped one spot to eighth in 2010 from the previous season, but Sportal tips them to lift a notch in 2011. Carlton have put contract negotiations with coach Brett Ratten on ice until the end of the season in order to see if the team can progress from a finals also-ran to an outfit capable of making a splash come September. They will cause some big teams a headache or two, but the odd slip-up to lesser opposition may hinder their bid to move further up the ladder.

Seems like they actually did some research and put some thought into it. Bad journalism, BAD :hitcomputer:

One of the key areas if we are to improve at all!

Up until now we have been a little flaky and have lacked the grit to impose our superiority against mid-table sides (ala kangaroos last year!). Overcome this and it is big step to moving up to the top echelons of the ladder

You find IMO that there are certain teams which stand in the way of teams wanting success. It seems if you beat those teams you're on your way. For us it is North Melbourne and Hawthorn - 2 middle ranked teams who have done our head in I reckon. If we beat those teams that will give us a tremendous boost. I sort of think that's what they're referring to. Anyway, jsut a thought.

About where I think we'll be... If we manage to pinch a few against our bogey teams, then maybe we can end up 5th or 6th ...

Beating St Kilda again would be a big boost as well. 1 win in our past 12 against them or something.

Bombers, Saints, Pies and Swans have been a headache for us for a while. Time they never get close to us on the score board again.

Fair point, but what must be remembered here is we stunk as a team for many of those games and the Saints were flying more often than not.

We play the Saints, Swans and Disciples of St James twice each. Must beat them all at least once.
