KB asked Swanny if there was any chance the Blues might pick up Fev next year ... his reply was ... 'Unlikely' ... although he went on to say 'a lot would have to change' .... oh yea! ... come on down Fev.

Me thinks Richmond is in the box seat.

yeah...that was a bit weird..
was expecting a' when hell freezes over'..
but actually...then he said...well, you know, only a club with a premiership window would really look at him in 2012(not exactly that..but gist..)
??????what the????
there was definitely not a flat out 'NO' in the air.

If I was a betting man, I would think the odds would be around 1 mil to 1.

But my imagination is picturing a reformed, remarried, church going, AA member, gamblers anon member, reinvented Fev, playing in a Premiership with the Blues and being a role model for new recruits. ( I did say it was my imagination - which can get carried away under certain conditions       )

It would be the football equivalent of Kerry Packer selling Channel 9 to Allan Bond for Billions (?) and buying back a year or so later for a few hundred mil.

Even as an ardent Fev hater, after watching a few of his highlight packages in big games, the suggestion has an unexpected appeal.

I have a dilemma. I used to own a Ferrari but sold it a year back. Evan though it was expensive to maintain, I loved it and really enjoyed it when it was performing at its best – which was superb.

However, I eventually decided to sell it after it developed performance problems. I realised that the running costs of around $600k per year were not worth it and an offer I was made was too good to resist. The purchaser offered to trade me two less expensive sports models that I considered had the potential to develop into classics. I accepted and the deal thus far has proven to be a great one for me. The Ferrari has continued to break down and has been confined to the workshop in recent times. The new owner had to deregister it and yet still pay for repair work and continue to pay the extremely high hire purchase fees. The two trade-ins I received have performed well, with every indication that they will continue to improve with further fine tuning.

The dilemma that I am faced with is that I could buy back the Ferrari at a fraction of its earlier value and still retain the trade-ins that I originally received. The main issue that I am concerned about is that I would have to house the Ferrari in a secure environment which would force one of the newer models out of the garage. Whilst I would still own the newer models they might not continue to develop if I have to dedicate my resources to servicing the Ferrari.

On reflection, I think I will let someone else enjoy the fluctuating emotions involved in owning such a cantankerous, demanding high performance vehicle.

I heard the whole hour he was on. KB asked him about Murphy and GWS and he said the usual things about Muph saying he wanted to stay and said GWS hadnt spoken to him (no doubt his manager has though). He was a bit vague about him re-signing. He said ho hoped Fev can sort his life out and a caller asked if Carlton had noticed any signs of depression and he said no and everytime Fev got into trouble alcohol was always involved.
He said our membership was doing well and we are about 3,500-4,000 ahead of last year.
He also was asked about rookie promotions and said we can promote 2 after the end of the NAB cup and mentioned the names Casboult and Curnow as two possibles.

Reasons we would ...

- Premierships are so hard to win these days, you need all the talent you can get
- we 'might' have a Premiership window open in 2012
- if Fev was going to pull his digit out for any club it would be Carlton, the club I believe he still loves and feels he owes
- senior players Judd, Betts, Houlihan are very close to Fev

In saying that, he'd need to have a clean bill of health for 9 months, and a lot of other variables would need to align. Unlikely but not impossible, and we all know the story of the prodigal son.

As much as it is near impssoble to see, how amazing would it be to see Fev kick the winning goal in a Carlton Premiership ?!! It would go down in history as one of the great Grand Final stories. Care to dream anyone??

I just can't see the club doing it. Rightly or wrongly they would be absolutely crucified in the press and then the spotlight would turn on sponsors etc etc.

Besides which, I think it could be argued our forward line is a lot better placed with Lachie, Waite, Walker and the Helpers than with Fev and some other mix.

The club should be grateful for the return they got out of trading him to Brisbane and move on.

Yep that is the other thing, the unpredictability of our fwdline is a strength now.

But, in fairness, it is always handy having a true superstar fwd, to take that big mark and kick that all important goal in a close and important game.

That is another area Fevola would need to illustrate he'd matured - it's not just about the booze, but he would also need to show that in game day he could sacrifice his own game for the betterment of the team at large, not be the focal ppoint all the time, but when called up would do so.

Can he ever be this way? I doubt it. He has a shocking history of spraying teammates when they don'tm kick it to him. Hard to see him changing his ways.

Very funny ... still in the back of your mind sometimes ... you might think it would be wonderful to take the Ferrari out for a spin.

By the way ... no way will they take Fev back (well almost) ... but ...

Then there were the pro-Fev comments of Paul Roos. Now I believe Ratten has done a good job and should remain ... but imagine if Roos replaced him next year and Fev kicked 150-200 goals in the VFL (and cleaned his act up) ... then the lanscape changes and anything is possible ...

I love stiring the pot .... :smoking:

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me 500 times, shame on me.

Fev won't play for Carlton again.
