If I was a betting man, I would think the odds would be around 1 mil to 1.

But my imagination is picturing a reformed, remarried, church going, AA member, gamblers anon member, reinvented Fev, playing in a Premiership with the Blues and being a role model for new recruits. ( I did say it was my imagination - which can get carried away under certain conditions )

It would be the football equivalent of Kerry Packer selling Channel 9 to Allan Bond for Billions (?) and buying back a year or so later for a few hundred mil.

Even as an ardent Fev hater, after watching a few of his highlight packages in big games, the suggestion has an unexpected appeal.

I have a dilemma. I used to own a Ferrari but sold it a year back. Evan though it was expensive to maintain, I loved it and really enjoyed it when it was performing at its best – which was superb.

However, I eventually decided to sell it after it developed performance problems. I realised that the running costs of around $600k per year were not worth it and an offer I was made was too good to resist. The purchaser offered to trade me two less expensive sports models that I considered had the potential to develop into classics. I accepted and the deal thus far has proven to be a great one for me. The Ferrari has continued to break down and has been confined to the workshop in recent times. The new owner had to deregister it and yet still pay for repair work and continue to pay the extremely high hire purchase fees. The two trade-ins I received have performed well, with every indication that they will continue to improve with further fine tuning.

The dilemma that I am faced with is that I could buy back the Ferrari at a fraction of its earlier value and still retain the trade-ins that I originally received. The main issue that I am concerned about is that I would have to house the Ferrari in a secure environment which would force one of the newer models out of the garage. Whilst I would still own the newer models they might not continue to develop if I have to dedicate my resources to servicing the Ferrari.

On reflection, I think I will let someone else enjoy the fluctuating emotions involved in owning such a cantankerous, demanding high performance vehicle.
