Just curious to know if anyone else has compared the prices of merchandise from the carlton blues online shop to other online retailers and whether we are actually getting a fair deal.
I have ordered merchandise from this site http://www.goodscore.com.au/carlton-blu ... 4_646.html many times and it has always been the cheaper option. Everything there is atleast $10 to $15 cheaper, even round december last year they had huge discounts on old stock far cheaper than the blues online shop.
Now i know some people are gonna say members get discounts all year round at the blues online shop, but do they mark up there products considerably more just to cover for these discounts.
I would prefer to give my money directly to the club through the official blues shop, but why when i can get better deals elsewhere..... Anyone else feel the same?

never heard of goodscore before #1, its got some good deals, very cheap in comparison to our shop and the AFL store. Not a good look for the blues shop to be $15-20 dearer.

The club is not a charity, if they don't offer us, the members, value for money then they should be looking at how they can do this.

I agree. I buy my membership each year, but I feel ripped off if I look at the CFC website or going into their shop on the rare occasion I am in Melbourne. I will buy wherever I get better value on the same product, and right now, that is not the CFC shop.

eBay is another can of worms, but that goodscore website I have used for a long time.

a little off topic but i need some help! I'm looking to buy a 2011 navy training tee online, but need to know from someone who has one if they are a regular fit or a slim/players fit. I like to wear regular/loose clothing and i know that some items are slim fits which require you to buy a size or 2 bigger to get a comfortable fit.

Any help will be great, cheers!

The Nike store at DFOs in Southwarf was selling last years training tees for $25 a couple of weeks ago, not sure if they still have them.

The logo in the middle of it, from afar looks like a wooden spoon.

I did notice the difference between the prices at the merchandise tent out the front, and the AFL store inside the ground next to the Locker Room on Saturday night, which was about $15-20 difference in favour of the AFL department.

It's a real shame that the new clash strip appears to have been rushed out for Christmas. Looks really cheaply made, the sponsors logos look likely to survive maybe one or two trips to the washing machine. Think I might wait a while on that one, was looking forward to buying one too.

I went down to the club today and purchased a few items; picked up the fantastic team hoodie ($75) and the dri-fit team hat ($30).

I'm really happy with both products. Good to see some quality, simple, comfortable and good looking outer wear on the market this year. I doubt I'll be the only one wearing the hoodie, it's one of the better products the club has had in recent seasons.

On the issue of club v AFL shop v third party retailers, I'm more than happy to spend a few extra dollars at the club if that money stays with the club. In the case of these two items they were the same price on that site, even if it was a bit cheaper you still have to factor in shipping.

Dont forget to shown them your membership card to get a discount. I think around 10-15%. I bought some stuff recently and if I hadnt asked I wouldn't have known.

Could signage informing members of this possibly entice people to spend (or spend more) if they know they can get a discount???

I dont buy a heap of merchandise but I will drive to teh club and buy it through there or if the missus gets me something I tell her to get it mailed from the club.

I dont know if it still occus but apparently Essendon* get a share of ALL club merchandise purchased at Etihad even if its the clubs stall!!!! I dont know if this is still the case or not??

All shop staff should ask customers as a matter of course if they have their membership card to get the discount and if they dont have it handy then it can be looked up via the membership database (provided the correct ID can be provided by the customer) - and if all that fails the shop staff should ask the customer if they would like to join.
