The squad for today's NAB Challenge match made a semi-suprise visit to Eastlake Footy Club here in Canberra. I went along with my eldest daughter who's also a true blue fan.

We got photos with Juddy, Betts, Gibbs, Ratts - fantastic but we missed Murphy and my girl's a big fan of his.

Anyway, after dinner and walking down to our car, we went back to the Club just in case we caught the boys on the way out but by the time we got there most of the team were on the bus except for a few officials.

In vain hope, I asked one of the officials if there was any chance of Murphy hopping off the bus for a quick photo.

In a flash he was out and we got the shot - one my daughter will treasure for a very, very long time I suspect!

So Marc - you have the thanks of a very grateful father, and a very, very happy 9 year old!

And here's the shot! The smile on my daughter's face says it all.

Can't speak highly enough of the lads and how accommodating they were to the Canberra kids.

Well done Blue Boys - if they weren't before you just secured some new fans for life.

Great to hear the guys doing this sort of stuff. One of those things that doesn't mean much to them, but will have a lasting affect on the kids.

Great work Murph

Something so small can mean heaps to someone

I remember how rapt I was when I got my first ever players signatures when Vin Catoggio and Alan Hamilton turned up my primary school in Carlton to do a footy clinic. It was a huge buzz to get them to sign a piece of paper for me.

Is that what the Gen Y blokes are wearing now? Salmon tshirts and cuffed denim shorts?

Cute story, your daughter looks very pleased :)

Bluey 95 your daughter looks like mine at that age.

Alan who?

Alan Hamilton was an U/19's / reserves player for teh Blues from late 70's to 1980. Never cracked it for a senior game, but played in back-to back U19's flags and won a B&F with the thirds.

On Murph's clothing- "Not that there's anything wrong with that"

Props to him nonetheless, good work Murph.
