Not a bad idea.

The salary cap relief is just allowing them to pay-out his entire contract now, but having it count against the cap for its remaining years as though he were still playing. I see no harm in that, and am surprised that wasn't the norm.

All I want is to see our portion of his payments scrapped.

Then why does an article in todays HUN on page 75 say that the $500,000 Brisbane will be saving by paying Fev out now will allow them to keep Mitch Clark? If the last year of his contract (2012) was to be included in 2012 then how does this give them any extra salary cap room?

I'm just re-hashing the AFL's decision from a few days ago. You're referring to Brisbane's attempts to negotiate a mutual termination of contract (i.e. a settlement). If it's $1 million as reported, then yeah, there'll be savings as the $1 million will be spread across two seasons, as opposed to the $1.6-$1.9 million he had remaining.

Carlton will probably receive a $1,000,000 penalty and be excluded from the next 2 drafts for drafting Fev in the first place and allowing him to embarrass the AFL.

If they negotiate a reduced payout with Fevola then by rights we should see a pro-rata reduction in our component. We'll probably get stiff though.
