We all like to have a bit of fun with the media here in Melbourne, especially the HS and the perceived bias they have against Carlton. Well have a read of this article: http://www.anfieldroad.com/dont-buy-the-sun/ Ironically the message is pushed continuously via Liverpool supporter forums 22yrs after the fact, the hatred is immense, takes some of our posters and raises them 10 fold. Could you ever see a footballing club going to this length in Australia? |

I can understand fully where the Kop are coming from though. I've read some if the findings of that disaster, and there was no evidence of anything like that happening. To tarnish a club and it's supporters like that especially after the huge toll it took would make you seek redemption for sure. The Sun is a piece of crap paper anyhow, except the Page 3 girl. |

Terrible if some of those things did happen - but in the context of the tragedy that had just occurred was it necessary to print those stories?? |

I wouldn't expect our club to strongly oppose a paper like this (the supporters of course being another thing altogether). Just look back on each time our club has been unfairly dragged through the mud, and the response has been tame to say the least (some would say 'not dignifying them with an answer' which is probably equally valid). Problem is if the club gets on the front foot and calls them out, things would only get worse and we'd be further made to seem the like the bad guy. So my answer is no. However, if you were to ask me whether the hun (or sen) would print a headline like this about us if a tragedy like this occured, ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY they would. |

There have been a number of investigations into the Hillsborough tragedy and as sjabc posted there was no evidence whatsoever of anything so vile happening. The editor of that dirt rag, Kelvin McKenzie remains unrepentant about the lies he printed. |

Three men, a Scouser, a Manc and a Rasta all in the maternity ward waiting for their partners to give birth. The midwife comes out and tells them congratulations, they're all fathers of beautiful healthy boys, however unfortunately they've run out of the name tags, and the babies have been mixed up, so if they could each go in and identify their sons from any family resemblance etc. The Manc wants to go first, so in he goes and comes out with a black baby The Rasta looks a bit confused, "excuse me", he said, "but don't you think he's likely to be mine ?" "Probably", said the Manc, "but one of them in there's a scouser, and I'm takin' no chances !!!!!" ![]() |
