This one certainly got ran through the Carlton filter

Quote:
CARLTON'S pre-season campaign is in tatters, with a host of stars sidelined by injury or in rehabilitation recovering from ailments.

Quote:
Midfield pair Bryce Gibbs and Brock McLean have both been hit with a gastro bug. They ran laps along with Ryan Houlihan, who is sidelined with a cork.

Wow, sounds serious.

Ah the old treadmill excuse

That first quote and what Russell has said are a complete contradiction. Russell makes it sound like things are moving along fairly well with a few small set backs.

Campaign in tatters not even close to describe it. Is this the medias way of selling newpapers by making things sound 10 times worse than they really are ????

Tony Sheehan?....Lovechild of Mike Sheehan and Tony Jones?

Good article.

Had to stretch it out with gastro complaints, yet no mention anywhere of Henderson's injury.

When I got to the comment about Hammer injuring himself on his missus' treadmill I actually wondered if they were taking the piss, then I remembered it was the Hun.

Gastro = MEH, a week tops IF you have a bad bout of it
Corky = MEH I could do that falling over my own feet.
Player with season ending injury in the prior season having a minor setback = MEH
Hammer's tendonitis = LOL

As far as I can tell the only worry is Judd and seriously it's the friggin NAB Cup who cares?

And no mention of Hendo etc WHO ARE ACTUALLY RECOVERING FROM RECENT SURGERY!

Bruised heel is a worry. Should be able to stay reasonable fit but not completely football fit.
The thing with that injury is you can still play and think you are feeling ok but really you are not quite right.
Can take months to shake that one. I had it for about 5 months. Tried everything to fix it apart from having an op.
In the end i bought a pair of Birkenstocks and kicked around in them non stop. Also got some insoles called Superfeet for my other shoes.
Foot was better in a fortnight.

Hope the virus gets isolated.

I got a cork last night.
Came out of a bottle of Janz.
I've recovered already.
But my season may be in tatters.

If wonder if Tony think his wife's head has exploded each time she sneezes

Talk about a page filler on quiet day. I would be more than happy for Juddy, Brock and Gibbs for that matter to miss 90% of the pre-season games.

Just got back from a few days away and the wheels have fallen off
