Very pleasing to read.

Ellard has certainly become a favourite at the cameldome thanks to his work ethic. Garlett, too, usually does more work than he's given credit for. I hope White gets a chance to make his mark in 2011.

Good work all you boy's.

I know why Ellard works so hard, who the flower would want to go back to being a roof tiler, it's a prick of a job.

I saw Ellard the week of the VFL grandfinal doing some sort of construction work ( concreting i think ) in a city laneway.

He looked focused on the work.

White playing forward sounds interesting.

Ellard was also featured in the careers section of the Herald Sun I think before he got back in the senior side as a building apprentice, and as a footballer setting up an alternate career.

Really pleased for him, as I also recall his first game for Carlton was something like a week after one of his best mates had been killed in a car accident, which if he didn't get picked again this year would have been a horrible memory of your only AFL game.

Who knows he might become the Kirk of Carlton!

I liked this part the most:
Quote:
We haven’t seen the best of Simon White. We’ve seen about 60 per cent, and I joke with him, saying ‘Mate, they don’t know how good you’re going to be’. He’s more mature and he’s got a better attitude now

Hopefully White will develop into a quality key defender - a full pre season may do him wonders.
