Excuse me if the 'Blueseum' ID is imposing on your own views too much,

but it doesn't seem like we've made enough of a big deal about the superb win of the great Chris Judd. Winning 2 Brownlows, at different - or identical clubs - is such a special, miraculous effort in footy history terms, we might not be celebrating enough.

The Blueseum has devoted our top RHS to Judd as our 5th Brownlow winner:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... Medallists

5 in 90 or so years!!!!

Pretty special.

We've also decided to highlight the years of Brownlow winners and will be backtracking through our records to highlight the great history of success offered by Deacon, James, Collis, Williams, and now Captain Judd.

Speaking of Williams, there are remarkable parallels from Williams' 1994 to Judd's 2010:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... s+Brownlow

* Both players earned their first votes in Round 4 of their years
* Both players won the awards with stunning vote catching mid year
* Both players followed up their Brownlow win at other Clubs and won one at the Blues

We should be celebrating these wins - individual success at a time where the Club was not quite good enough....

Until the next years!!!!

Both won in their third season at the Blues, the second season back in the finals after missing in their first season, after the club had missed finals for a number of years.

Williams went on to win a premiership in his fourth season

Looking at the above, another interesting stat emerges: Carlton averages a premiership 3 years after a Brownlow and averages a GF 1.5 years after a Brownlow, which puts us on line for a GF in 2012 and a flag in 2013!!!

After only 3 seasons he's already a Carlton great.

A premiership will round it off beautifully like it did with Diesel.

I can't stand those who put Judds achievement in the same basket as Woewoden and Goodes. Fools.

If Judd wins a Prem with Carlton will his achievement be greater considered at Carlton or West Coast?

Right on. Nothing can be compared to Woewoedin's. That's the greatest Brownlow achievement of all-time. I defy anyone else to be such a shit footballer and still win the Brownlow in a year when a great has dominated to the extent that Kouta did.

Unbelievable achievement, and he should be commended. In fact I can't commend him highly enough!!!!

Great thread from the Blueseum.

Maybe we can look back on our top Judd moments from the year...

I will look at my favourite Judd moments and get back to you.

The other day I was looking at footage of Judd from the 2006 g/f - 10 minutes left in the 1st quarter g/f for W Coast Eagles...
when he broke the tackles of 3 players and then sprinted out of the pack. It was the Play of the Grand Final and demonstrated a skill base I had never seen before in football. Astounding!

On a side note; Juddy was interviewed at the Races this arvo and......he's bowed to The Twigster; and grown his hair.....for the Wedding no doubt?

It looks much better Juddy.....no doubt the C/wood supporters will say he's wearing a wig as they did a couple of years ago when he stopped shaving his head.

Re: Celebrating Judd in 2010

One of the best moments from the Brownlow man this year was vs West Coast.

4.50 left 1st quarter vs Eagles 2010 at Docklands.

He had already kicked a running goal in the 1st quarter. This one was better- pack developed 10 metres from goal square, Judd grabs ball out of mid air one handed, backs out of pack, wheels around, circle kick for goal. Speed, precision...has it all.

Saw that interview Warby and could not agree less ... Judd looks awe inspiring without hair and positively dreadful with it.

Personally I think he is the opposite of Sampson. Grows his hair his strength (at the Blues) will diminish!

And here he is at the races on Saturday....still looks like Juddy to me.

Won a Brownlow at The Eagles with hair.....and one with us with a shaved skull..... :thanks:

These similarities between our brownlow winners still have a way to run.

There will be some differences of course - not major ones though.

Surely the triumvirate of triple B&F winners - President, Coach and Captain - could possibly force an alignment of all stars towards the next Premiership?
