. The only evidence the article has is players seeking to leave or the club testing the water. No direct quotes from disgruntled current or former players or coaches, and there's no shortage of people who'd have an opportunity to give us a bake. I'm not convinced of Rattens capabilities, if I had to make a call I'm leaning towrds the negative with him, but he certainly looked better when he moved to the players bench. If we loook anything like we did during that mid season slump next year, I'd say he's history |

If he moves Walker to the midfield we will be a better team. If he moves Gibbs to midfield, we'll be a better team. (Although I can understand his desire to have Gibbs in that 'quarterback' position too. If the model is Hodge and Goddard, I think that's good but both of them spend plenty of time on the ball as well. Probably more time on the ball. Ratts on the bench was a good move but surely whether we play well (1st half of season) or poorly (form slump) does not depend on whether Ratts sits up in the box or down on the bench. If that's the case, we should simply build a side shed on the boundary where all the players mommies can sit and give them approving or disapproving looks, hugs, hair ruffles and can reposition their carefully 'messy' hair with their spit. I am happy with Ratts down there to eyeball the players from time to time but if that's a determinant of how our players carry themselves on the field, then we have got much bigger problems than Ratts! Devise a solid game plan and strategy. Make sure it is a good one. And we have good backups too. Ensure all the players know and understand theirs (and others') roles and can play several of them. Ensure all the players have the tools (skills, practise etc...) to execute those roles. Put the best players in the most important positions. Win. |

clubs are definetly happier using the draft than to trade, which in our case will make walks , thornton etc nuckle down and get on with it or they will play no where. Iam estatic walks is staying , as my 8 year old daughter has the NO 1 . The problem with the trading system is that the clubs are now too frightened to be seen to do deals that dont favour their club massively, public perseption. |

Brennan goes for top 10 pick and best we could get for Walker is 34. Don't get me started on Tambling & Sherman.... Walker will be warming the bench alot this season and will be our supersub most weeks. |

being contracted scares the clubs away, too hard , too much to lose. How about we all give him a go now, he is OUR player, unless we all can do better than walks can ??? I know I cant |

Convinced that if he can stay injury free and rotate through the midfield and play with crunch and dash that he will be a very useful player in 2011. However the reality that most clubs are aware of is that if he does his shoulder one more time his career is OVER. Enough to scare most clubs away. |

What club Brennan was going to and the spare picks they have compared to the availability of picks Walker's suitors had? Clubs are not going to give away a first rounder easily. They are most reluctant to do that (as we should've been with pick 11 last year). Port's first pick was 16 and understandably wanted to keep it. No "Compo" picks so the next was 34. Carlton drove a hard bargain with the Crows as he was contracted, as they should, they weren't giving up anything early. Unlike Tambling, who is crap so worth going cheap, Walker's worthwhile. It's something big or we happily keep him. I'm sure the Crows would've taken Walker instead of Tambling if all they had to pay was pick 29 plus a late pick. Who wouldn't. |

In 2005, Collingwood tanked and came 2nd last - obtained picks 2 and 5 - and the rest is history In 2010, Collingwood won the flag In 2005, Carlton came last..... In 2010, Carlton scraped into the finals, lost their one finals match and came 8th In 2011, Carlton will be expected to win finals matches and finish higher than 8th...otherwise there will be a lot of upset people and there will be blues at the Blues. A tale of two teams. |
