Our trip down memory lane is inspired by yesterday's Collins / Grigg trade. It doesn't look like there is a good track record of players leaving Carlton or Richmond and going to the other for success. Some examples:

Peter Francis and Bill Barrot each spent time at both Club but were Premiership Players before they left.

Ricky McLean?

That was then...this is now?

We can live in hope?

If you look in a rear view mirror etc...?

I am trying to think of some positives here.

Carlton and Richmond were unlikely to trade in the 60's/70's as we were mortal enemies then, that leaves the 80's & 90's and to be honest Richmond's period wasn't that great then. I can see the Tiges climbing the ladder with Hardwick in control though.

We did get Tim Powell and he kicked two goals in the 1993 qualifying final...that is something to hang one's hat on... (whatever you do don't mention the war/iethe grand final of that year...shhhh...)

Wasn't traded but Simon Fletcher went from us to Richmond via the draft.

Tim Fleming? Don't know if he played seniors for us but was in our reserves. Played a couple of seasons for them I think.

Simon is currently in Europe on holidays and will be back on TC in a few weeks with his pros and cons.

Oh, you mean the footballer Simon Verbeek.

The beek was recruited from St Arnaud - then in Richmond's zone.
