Reading the Collins and Grigg threads, just makes me Cringe at times.

How man of you guys respect our past players? People that have worn our mighty jumper on the most hallowed of turf.

I liked Grigg as a player. He was coming along well. Recruited in 2006, he was two years behind Jordan Russell, who seemed to get nursed along by the way. Saying that, congrats on him for becoming the player he is.

I thought Grigg deserved an opportunity much sooner than he did. Obviously, with similar types to Grigg at the club, players along with him and Walker, will move on.

Saying that, they have played for our club. Walkers debut in 2004 was amazing. His career has stifled due to injury and form, but still, they must be respected. You do not have to like them, but they were paid to do a job, that you or I would have given a lung for. Best of luck Griggy.

I have no feeling one way or another - does he wear the Navy Blue..no.. so @#$%&! him.

If he wants an extra $50k per year for three years good luck to him.

Respect him?

Absolutely not. He is full of himself.

It's not him asking to leave that pisses people off, it's the way he's gone about it.

I think this is about right, too.

I'm a bit sad that Grigg is gone, he has good ball winning ability and hardness around the packs. We don't have enough mongrel type players and Grigg was one of our better. A sad indictment of our toughness it must be said.

However, the key to not losing any sleep over Grigg's departure is in these words from Steven Icke (in reference to Andy Collins)...

Quote:
"We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the Carlton Football Club, he has already been to Visy Park to see the facilities and it is pleasing to have a young player who is looking forward to playing for the Carlton Football Club and being a part of our exciting future."

Respect is earned. Its not just given because he once wore our jumper. He's pissed all over that Jumper so deserves no respect.

Anyone who thinks Grigg is a tough inside mid is kidding themselves. He is a one sided, substandard kicking soft...... Surprised a hard nut like Hardwick didn't pick that up. Wait and see. He'll be running around for Coburg before too long. the snippet I saw of Andrew Collins fills me with more hope than three years of nothingness that Grigg showed. I don't always give Ratten credit but I reckon he played him so long in the Bullants for a reason.

I'm not going to be fed someone's sh*t and call it Ice Cream just because they played for Carlton...
Why the hell should I show respect to someone who's shown the Club I love such utter disrespect ?
As far as I'm concerned, Grigg is in the same boat as Hamill and Campo...
Those three are dead to me...

Yep,

I backed the guy, I was dirty when the MC didn't play him.

But you are dead right, just a wanker who left because it was easier.

I wish him all the success Campo and Hamill had.

Actually he's probably our version of Nick Davis.

I'm surprised that anyone who posts on this forum thinks he knows more than Hardwick.

The guy deserves no respect, he had an attitude problem hence the reason he wasnt in the team more often. He was way ahead of himself which also hapend 2 years a go.
He is one sided and cost us goals in crucial moments in big games - missed from 15 out against Cats which would have put us within 9 points and again in Rnd 22 against Freo - set shot from 45 and kicks it out on the full. He says opportunity I say good riddens. :donk:

Plenty think they know more than Brett Ratten and Wayne Hughes...

Ratten would know more about Grigg than Hardwick who hasn't worked with him for four years.

I have respect for Josh Kennedy.

I have respect for Sam Jacobs, even if we do end up a bit screwed over, he was upfront and honest.

Ditto Andrew Walker who may or may not go.

Setanta has given everything he could for the navy blue. Respect.

Geez even T-bird (whom I have seriously disliked for a number of years) still has a degree of respect.

All these guys have been upfront and honest.

I seriously hope Grigg ends his career sooking at Coburg
