Port and now Freo have figured out the appeal of the Carlton guernsey. They've basically copied the Carlton aesthetic the flowers

Been thinking this for awhile, but our guernsey has got to be one of the most simplistic, unique and straight to the point uniforms in the World. If you think about it, this is very very rare.

The background is powerful but it takes nothing away from the foreground, which is the emblem. Both are equally important as it states who we with just one glance. No reading, no animals, no combination of colours, just the football club around your body.

Due to it's ease on the eye, this is also the perfect canvas for any sponsor.

Other colours won't work either. If you have the Carlton Reds - the red will swallow it up. Carlton Blacks will do the same thing. Carlton Orange - most people will hate it. Carlton Greys - Emblem might get lost.

Navy Blue is the perfect colour.

So while you have the confusing look Collingwood share with Newcastle United of the EPL or the heavily contrasting colours of Richmond and Essendon* or the un-original animal which is the 'same name, different look' from every other team, Carlton's guernsey might just be the most unique and in turn the best piece of team wear ever.
