Tonight on 6PR Brad Hardie and Skeeter Readings talk to the Hun's Tony Shean . (spelling?)

General crapola about trades etc he then went on to say.

He's spoken to a current Carlton player today and said that if Ratts was coach in 2011 he might not have a team to coach. He reported that as many as 10 players are ready to walk out (I'm assuming he's including the rumoured trades).

The player said that Ratts did not have the support of the board apart from Sticks.

Said that the only reason more people had not pulled stumps already is because Steven Icke and Swanny had convinced them that a change at the helm was not too far away.

He said if Carlton could get the coach they wanted (Paul Roos was said to be the man) Ratts would be gone and Carlton were doing everything they can to get him. Brad Hardie (not a reliable source) confirmed that Roos was who they wanted, but they had a back up coach if they had to.

Could be complete BS, but I was taken aback at how sure he sounded.

The player is probably one of the disaffected guys on the outer, but just more sh1t for us to worry about.

All sounds very Bomberish.

I'm in Perth so I don't know if Tony from the Hun talks shizen, Brad Hardie definitely does.

Sounds a bit too out there for Sheahan methinks. He's not normally that upfront without putting it in the sun first. Brad hardie has proven himself full of spite before.

We'll just have to wait until the ten ask for a trade then.
Should go down well if we can get picks in an uncompromised draft in 2010.
30 of our best 40 stay, we pick up a few good'uns plus about three picks in the top 25

I'll take it.

IMO Brad Hardie and 6PR are going for ratings. Hoping this story will go well and get lots of response all week long.

Your probably right. Look whats happened recently..
Knights gone
Ablett to GC
Hird appointed
Thompson gone

Thats a lot of column inches that need to be filled now those issues have been resolved and the usual suspects have all gone quiet.

No trouble at the Tiges
No Trouble at the Dorkers
North won't go broke (yet)
Saints not in turmoil.

So maybe it's our turn , again. Although they did mention another possible problem at the Saints, apparently not all is well at the Sainters , but then they didn't elaborate. :screwy:

You cant help but wonder if there is something not right at Carlton at the moment. Many of my Carlton friends feel the same. Facts are 5 players have requested to be traded, Jacobs, Walker, Thornton, O"hailpin and Grigg. All have different reasons for leaving but these are quality players and all the trade talk is one way traffic. All leaving but none coming in. At present we only have 27 players contracted beyond this year, 3 of these have requested to be traded. Our depth will be non existent if we dont get any players of quality into the club straight away. Scotland and Hadley are out of contract too and not sure if they will re-sign or not. If we only get draft picks in return of the contracted players leaving and we upgrade a couple of rookies where do we get another 12 players or so from? You cant draft that many. It means players that would have been delisted may have to stay on now.
We should be at the stage of challenging for a flag but we are so far off it isnt funny. We also have 3 vacant assistant coaching roles, so far none have been filled.

Ratts is contracted to coach next year 2011 are the players not aware of that??? What are they going to do have a sit in or something?

1. Roos has signed 2 contracts. One with the Swans as Academy Director, the other with Fox Sports...both are 3 year deals.

2. His wife and boys aren't interested in moving to Melbourne. The youngest is in Year 10 next year (do the math)...and Tami Roos has absolutely no intention of removing her boys from school.

3. In all likelihood, they'll move back to the States in 2014.

4. Rumors are always rife with Roos and Carlton. After he retired from playing, we offered him an assistant coaching position. Roos barracked for Carlton as a kid. The Roos' sold their Randwick home in April for $5.5 million - unfortunately it was never reported that they also bought one about a month earlier...just down the road.

5. We sounded him out about a Director of Coaching position (not senior coach) some time ago. But it's not Paul Roos you have to convince. It's Tami, Tyler and Dylan Roos as well. If there's to be another pitch to Roos at some stage in the future, then a lot of the 'why Carlton is a good fit' has to be directed at the Roos family, not just Paul.

As for Tony Sheahan, he's trying to become the next Hutchy by the sounds of things. The whole thing is an unsubstantiated story. In every footy club right around the country, amateur or professional there's at least one or two players who 'don't like the coach'. Ironically, the handful of players who can't get a regular game are more often than not those very same players.
